Not sure if I have it right but am enjoying just smashing anything and everything into my little smashbook.

I decided to make one more card for the Gallery Idol 2011 challenge that is currently going on and what better than this weeks challenge over at CPS.

I used BasicGrey "hello luscious" papers and chipboard on my card along with an SRM sticker.

This card is definitely CAS just like the sketch.

So do you have any big plans for the long holiday weekend? We don't have any set plans so I am hoping to do lots of crafting and maybe some weed pulling. That should probably be reversed but thought I would be honest.

I have a quick card to share with you today that I made while Skyping with a friend last night.

I used papers by BasicGrey from the "out of print" collection along with some Echo Park "for the record". I have to say I just love this paper with all the newsprint look to it.

I used this weeks Twisted Sketches and the twist was fabric "any way ~ any how"! I made the flower out of satin fabric and added a little gem to the center.

introducing "the tiny ones"

It is Friday and time for another new release from Tammy over at A Day for Daisies. This week also happens to be a challenge week as well and the challenge for this week is Pastel...use any pastel color except PINK.

Well you know the minute I saw my image for this week "tiny pixie rose" I grabbed all my pink stuff and then gently put it back and grabbed the next best color which is YELLOW.

I used a sizzix embossing folder along with my My Favorite Things doily die and then I colored some seam binding with my Copic marker to match the color of her dress and hat.

I have a couple of cards to share with you before I head off to North Dakota to visit my sister for a couple days.

I used a new paper collection that I picked up at Archivers a couple days ago. It is the newest release by BasicGrey called "out of print". If you haven't seen it I have to say it is one of my favorites.

I used the sketch from Mojo Monday as my inspiration.

My next card uses the same papers and stamp set PTI "dream on".

I used Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch for this card.

I love this little quote on this cardstock embellishment by Authentique! It is a a quote by Dr. Seuss.

This paper collection is called 'uncommon" and I just love the colors in it. Soft greys, pinks and cream.

I used this Twisted sketch for my card and don't tell anyone but I changed it up just a little.

I got in my PTI order yesterday and just had to play with my new stamps and onsie die so I used more papers from "uncommon" and also papers from "journey".

I see myself playing with this little die more and more just too cute.

This is one of those just because cards. I just bought this image from Arielle over at Wax Fruit Company and could not wait to play with it. So without a sketch challenge I just created.

I used "valise" by memory box papers along with some cosmo cricket tiny type stickers, some twine and a button from my stash.

I am going to send this card to a friend who recently bought a new home.

I found a new sketch blog while I was blurfing called "Sketch Frenzy Friday" and just had to play along.

just a note

I have a quick card to share with you before the rest of the family wakes up and wants breakfast. My great niece Cassie Jo spent the night and informed me she was having french toast for breakfast, so I guess I am making french toast this morning.

I created this card while we were watching "Everafter" last night and Cassie was working on her "Smash Book".

I used papers and embellishments by BasicGrey from the "sweet threads" collection and the sentiment is by PTI.

I used this weeks sketch from Clean and Simple for my inspiration.

hello ~ it's a jolly holiday

(this is my 2nd post today)

I decided to play along with this weeks challenge over at Skipping Stones as I loved the sketch.

I used papers by lily bee design from the this & that collection and rub-ons by Paper Smooches from EAD.

I don't know what happen but when I applied the rub-on to this paper and lifted it off it pulled off part of the paper. I have never had this happen before so am sure it is caused by the paper. I kind of like how it looks so I left as is.

Next up is the card I did for this weeks sketch challenge over at Jingle Belles and I used some papers out of my last years Christmas stash by Websters Pages "holiday collection" along with a K&Co. grand adhesion. The image is from my stash.

paper piecing and paper pleats

I had fun today making up a couple cards and using an old technique and trying out a new one.

First up I paper pieced this card that I am entering into this weeks sketch challenge over at CPS.

For this card I used some new papers by lily bee design from the "this & that" 6x6 tiny tablet collection. The stamp I used is an old favorite of mine from hero arts that they recently brought back.

I think I spent about 3 hours working on this card as it took me forever to figure out which patterned papers to place in which order. I think I like how it turned out?

Next up is a card I created just because. I watched a SplitCoast video today on making paper pleats and ended up with that pieces so needed to create a card for it. The flowers and leaves were in my little basket on my desk and so the card was born.

I am going to enter both of these into the 2011 Gallery Idol.

I must admit that "for the record" is my favorite release by Echo Park to date. I just love the colors and patterns in the papers.

I woke up really early this morning and after a little caffeine I was ready to make a card.

I decided to throw my hat into the ring and submit a card to gallery idol. I know it isn't win worthy, but I am at least doing something that is way out of this girls comfort area and hopefully it will make me branch out and submit for a few other calls.

I used an old Penny Black flower image along with some Echo Park papers, EK Success "arch scallop" border punch along with some Ranger distress inks and Cosmo Cricket stickers.

I was inspired by this weeks sketch over at Clean and Simple Stamping.

Friday and time for another new release from Tammy at A Day for Daisies!

I used the image "new umbrella" for my card this week.

This week is also challenge week and the challenege this week is to use a "new" technique that you have never tried before.

I decided to try a couple of things out with the first being water coloring my image with distress inks. I also paper pieced the umbrella by adding 4 layers to it and I tore some paper to create hills for her to stand on along with some clouds in the sky.  Sorry you can't tell in the picture it did not photograph as I thought it would.
