trick or treat

I spent this morning over at Anchor Paper on University Avenue with my friend Jeanne and we worked on designing the projects for October Card Club. This month the theme is Christmas and we will be making an assortment of holiday cards, tags, a giftcard holder and even a mini treat box.

Paper Popsicle is starting a new sketch challenge and it is called Wacky Wednesday Hump Day and this is sketch #1.

For my card I used the BasicGrey "Eerie" 6x6 paper collection and "Woolies". The sentiment was done on my Dymo label maker and I attached two orange Dew Drops to it. I scuffed the edges of the paper with the Tim Holtz Distressing tool. Cardstock is Neenah black linen.

Happy Fall

It is a cool crisp morning here in Minnesota and it has me thinking of turning on the oven and baking something wonderful, like pumpkin pie, apple crisp or even making a nice chicken soup. Yummy.

The challenge today over at 365 Cards is called "In Pieces" which means we are to use the following pumpkin and place it on our cards. I decided not to place a face on my pumpkin as he just didn't go with my card when it was done. Hopefully, I won't be considered a rebel along with Gloria and Rose for not following the rules.

I used some new paper by Bo Bunny called Kitchn Spice Cinnamon for the front of my card and then I printed my pumpkin onto orange, brown and green papers and ran them through my Big Shot with a couple of Cuttlebug embossing folders (swiss dots and bark). I added some dark brown May Arts ribbon and 3 of my orange dew drops that I picked up when we went down to Hastings & Red Wing this past week. I distressed the pumpkin using Ranger Antique Linen ink.

Book for Melissa - (warning this is a long post)

I thought I would share a few pages from the scrapbook that I made for my son Justin's fiance Melissa who's birthday is coming up in a few days. The book is about this past summer.

Sorry for the long post. There are quite a few more pictures in the book and for everything except for the cover I used Cosmo Cricket "The Boyfriend". I wanted to use it for the cover, but none of the shops I went to brought in that line. Oh well, I like it anyways.

Monday

Although I don't have a card to share with you this morning I thought I would share a photo of Micah ~ aka Bubba. He is 6 months old now and what a personality this little man has.

I am off in about an hour to see my friend Jeanne and then we will have lunch with her twin sister Judy once we finish up Jeanne's Chemo treatment for the week.

I am also working on my Assorted Christmas Card Class that I will be teaching at Anchor Paper on University Avenue in October. Every week I check out what the card is over at Clean & Simple Stamping and today I decided to play along. I should be doing some other things here around the house but am in a mood to play.

I used Neenah natural white cardstock, Making Memories "Autumn Splendor" 4x6 paper mat that I picked up at Michael's yesterday, button is from BasicGrey, twine is May Arts, stamp is from Creative Cafe "November" and I got the Dew Drops at a small shop in Red Wing.

I love how clean and simple this sketch was and I used Cosmo Cricket "Earth Love paper and ribbon, dew drops on a few of the branches and the "enjoy" stamp is from Unity.

Pencil Lines ~ BUBBA

I am in a little bit of a scrapbooking mood today so here is the page I made for the sketch 153 over at Pencil Lines.

This is an 8x8 page and I used Neenah Solar White cardstock for the base of the page and the patterned paper is all from Cosmo Cricket "Earth Love" 6x6 mini deck. Love this paper. The letters are "thickers" from American Crafts and the button is BasicGrey.

I will be back tomorrow with a card.

Thumb Sucker

I only worked a half day today so decided to come home and do a little more scrapbooking since I currently have about 200 pictures of Micah to do.

I decided to do another one of the sketches over at 52 Sketches ~ 52 Weeks and this happens to be the sketch from week 37.

Here is my take on the sketch. This is an 8x8 book that I am doing for Micah.

Isn't he just sweet and he has sucked his thumb since the day he was born so was probably doing it in the womb too. Papers and accessories are all from Little Yellow Bicycle ~ Baby Safari and ribbon is all May Arts.

Tickled Pink

It is Saturday and that means I am off to work at Anchor Paper so if you are in the area stop by and say Hi.

This is the card I created for Card Patterns Sketch #34 and it is going to be sent off to my friend Pam's son Mike and his wife Jenny once their baby girl arrives.

I used BasicGrey "bittersweet" papers from the 6x6 pad, May Arts ribbon, stamp is from Unity "tickled pink" set, BasicGrey buttons. I layered the baby pram 3 times to make it pop and then I added white gel pen around the patterned paper to make my faux stitching. The scallop punch along the edge is Stampin' Up.

Ghoulish Greetings

I am so loving this digital Halloween kit that I bought from Pink Petticoat earlier this week. It came with so many different papers and each with about 7 different color options that I will never use everything before Halloween is here.

Today's card is for Get Sketchy #7 and I think the digi papers and digi stamps work perfect. It also gave me a chance to add some of my new Dew Drops on the card.

This card with the sweet little owlie pirate reminds me of Amy so may have to send this card out West before Halloween.

Part Two - Hastings and Red Wing Trip

I thought I would share a few more pictures from our trip yesterday and then will try and get a card done for you all. (I know some of you just come for the card and not all the stories)

Hastings and Red Wing Fun with Friends

We had the most beautiful day to take a trip down to Southern Minnesota to our first stop which was Hastings where we went to the local scrapbook store to shop. I bought some papers and ribbon of course and then it was off to The Busted Nut for some lunch with the locals, after lunch we headed to Red Wing which is a beautiful old historical town along the Mississippi River. Our first stop was the store that sells Dew Drops by the scoop and they are so yummy to look at.

Okay you get the idea now on what they are. We paid $.80 per scoop and at all the scrapbook stores they are $5.99 - $7.99 for a bottle. Talk about a deal.

The Busted Nut

Sorry no card today as I am off to Red Wing and Hastings to visit a couple of scrapbook stores and then we are off to The Busted Nut for lunch.

Bubba

I am going to step out of my comfort zone and try and participate in some scrapbooking challenges. I am not used to working with a sketch when I scrapbook but here is my first go at it.

This is Sketch 38 of 52 Sketches 52 Weeks I like the idea that they have a different sketch every week and I think I can handle that.

Boo to YOU

It is a cool fall morning here in Minnesota and it is so hard to believe that summer is over and soon it will be Winter. Tomorrow I am taking a road trip with my friends Bonnie, Jeanne and Judy to Hastings and Red Wing. We are going to check out some scrapbook stores and then have lunch at the Busted Nut. (love that name)

Today my card is for Inspirational Card Sketches #35 and I have used some of my new Digi papers from Pink Petticoat again, some ribbon that a friend sent me and a basicgrey woolie from the "eerie" collection.

Card Patterns Sketch 33

I have decided to branch out a little bit and try a few more challenge blogs and maybe use up some of this ever growing paper pile that I have here. I love this weeks sketch over at Card Patterns and decided to give it a try.

Here is the sketch

And here is my take on the sketch using my fun new set of Digi Stamps that I bought at Pink Petticoat. I also used my new BasicGrey "Eerie" paper pad and buttons, along with some May Arts Ribbons. I colored with some Tombow markers and a little glitter.

And here is the finished inside of the card. Think I will send this one off to a friend who loves Halloween as much as I love Christmas.

It has been a great day for me today not only getting my cards on the Cosmo Cricket blog, but my BFF Jeanne got wonderful news from her doctor regarding her chemo treatments.

Day 206 - Tuesday Triple

Today over at 365 cards we are to create a card and do everyting in Triplicate except for the sentiment.

For my card I used the new BasicGrey "Indian Summer" 6x6 paper pack and chose 3 of the patterns for the strips on the card and 3 different patterns to do the leaves in. (leaves are cuttlebug) I also used 3 buttons from the Indian Summer collection. This card will go in the mail to Chrissie along with her Indian Summer goodies that I got her for winning when my blog hit the 20,000 visitors mark.

Day 205 Color Scheme

I have been wanting to make a card for my friend Pam who lives in Oregon to let her know that I miss her so today's challenge over at 365 Cards was the perfect time to make that card.

The challenge is to create a card using a specific set of colors and today the colors are:

And here is my card using those colors (plus a few extra). I have to admit that today's card is totally card lifted from one of the challenge blogs I visited. I really liked the sketch they used and decided to copy it and one of the cards. Sorry I can't remember who's blog it was on.

for this card I used my new sassafrass lass 6x6 paper called sweet marmalade, memory box snowpuff branch, SU border punch, sentiment is computer generated, twine and misc. button from my stash, and I colored the tree with liquid pearls in gold, mint green, and white opal.
