fall cuties and challenge

It is time for a new release over at A Day for Daisies and this weeks release is called "fall cuties". I got to play with the image "fall pup".

It is also a challenge week and this weeks challenge is called "gimme some texture". It can be anything embossing, fabric, ribbon, or anything else you can think of to add.

I used a Sizzix embossing folder along with some paper piecing and some twine to add texture to my card.

Here is a look at all of the new images Tammy has released into the shop today.

Make sure and stop by the ADFD blog and check out what all the other Designers have created for this new release.

Thanks for stopping by and I will be back next Friday with another new release.

celebrate ~ tis the season

A quick card to share with you before I head out to run some errands. Sorry about the quality of the photo I took it with my phone.

I created this card using this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch.

I used papers and petite type squares by Authentique from the "wonder" collection, Unity Stamp, and PTI "holly jolly" die.

tis the season

I picked up a new stamp set yesterday by Graphic 45 and wanted to try it out so I went hunting for a sketch challenge. I found the perfect one over at "Less is More".

I stamped the image of the two kids first and then created a mask and stamped over it twice with the postcard stamp from the same set. I colored in the image with Copics and then stamped the sentiment at the bottom.

Here is the sketch I used for my inspiration.

stop and ...

I saw this weeks sketch over at Sketchy Thursdays and knew I wanted to play along this week and actually post a picture of my finished piece. A lot of times I do the sketch for the week and just don't post it. I guess you could say I am layout shy. :)

Here is a look at this weeks sketch.

Don't you just love it? I was almost scared off by the sewing on  this piece but grabbed my machine and went with it. I am a beginner when it comes to sewing so I apologize if the lines are not that straight.

Thanks for stopping by to look your comments are appreciated and wanted.

heard you were dragon

It is time for a new release from Tammy over at A Day for Daisies and this weeks release is all about Dragons.

I tried to come up with something witty to put as the sentiment and when I first did the "heard you were dragon" thought it could be a get well card, but now that I am looking at it I am not so sure.

Here is a look at all this weeks new releases.

Stop over at the shop and see what all the other Design Team members came up with.
Enjoy!

joy

I have a couple of cards to show you that I created yesterday. I was listening to music and coloring in some of my digital images and this is what I made with them.

On this snowman card I used my favorite colors and since I didn't have any ribbon to match exactly I created my own using some seam binding and my Copic markers. I like how it turned out so might have to do more of that.

Thanks for stopping by to look. I will be back tomorrow with either a card or layout to share with you.

Enjoy!

happy day ~ ftl158

A couple of cards to share with you today that I created yesterday while I watched movies on Netflix and watched the rain through my window.

My first card is for the newest challenge over at Clean and Simple Stamping.

I kept my card pretty simple using just black and white Neenah linen along with a Sizzix embossing folder, PTI stamp, Cosmo Cricket stickers and Martha Stewart border punch.

Here is this weeks sketch that I used for inspiration.

Next up is a card I created using the sketch from Hero Arts along with some Authentique "glowing" papers and PTI "tag its #7" stamps.

Thanks for stopping by to look I hope you enjoy. Your comments are welcomed and appreciated.

ATU - One Layer

I have a ton of stamps by Unity and realized today that I never pull them out and use them so today when I saw the newest challenge I decided to play along.

The challenge is to do a one layer card and I must admit that is the hardest style for me to do, but I like a good challenge and here are the cards I came up with.

I started out with this stamp which is an itty bitty called "roly poly winter joy". I stamped some white snowflakes in the background but you can't see them very well on the card and then I colored the image with Copics and added some liquid embroidery, distressed stickles and glossy accents.

My next card was probably my favorite one to make although I am not sure if by adding the twine and bells if it is still considered a one layer card. I am thinking it is so will submit it anyways.

I used another itty bitty called "a beautiful sight". I picked up this stamp last year before the holidays and it is still one of my favorites.

My last card uses another itty bitty called "celebrate" a fun summery image and perfect for a one layer card.

Thanks for stopping by to look.

music to my ears

Okay I love the newest sketch challenge over at Cardabilities and could not wait to play along.

I used papers by Lily Bee Design from the "this and that" collection along with my new butterfly stamp and die by Prickley Pear rubber stamps.

Here is the sketch that I used for the inspiration on my card.

Isn't this a great sketch? You have until September 28th if you want to play along.

Thanks for stopping by to look and as usual your comments are wanted and appreciated.

Life is...

I have a just because card to share with you today.

I created this card using my new stamps from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps that I won last week. I probably should apologize for the butterfly overload the last few days, but I absolutely love this stamp set.

Enjoy!

Mini's

The challenge this week over at CAS-ual Fridays is to create mini cards. I went with a 3.5" square card for my minis and did a set of 4 using a new stamp set from Prickley Pear that I won in their last challenge.

This was a fun challenge as I had forgotten how much I enjoyed making sets of cards. I will send these to my sister Sharon to use.

I used October Afternoon and Cosmo Cricket stickers for all the sentiments.

Thanks for stopping by to look and your comments are appreciated.

Flashback Friday - (aka for Amy)

I woke up earlier than normal today so while I was catching up on my Google Reader I noticed that my friend Amy has her newest Flashback Friday post up.

Well I have decided to post my first Fall card that I ever posted to my blog. This card was created back in September 2009. Now no laughing at it and I apologize for the lighting on the picture.

I am pretty sure those are BasicGrey papers and woolies that I used along with thickers by American Crafts.

Enjoy!

be well

It is Friday once again and that means time for a new release over at A Day for Daisies. It also happens to be time for a new challenge and this weeks challenge is "Get Gift-y"! Make a beverage related "gift" - it can be a teabag holder card or box or whatever!

This weeks new release is another fun one and I got to use "tea time fairy".

I created this little box using a tutorial over at Splitcoast Stamps called "mini pizza box" it was so easy and took just minutes to create.

Here is a look at all of this weeks new release images.

Don't forget to stop by the blog and see what the other design team members have come up with.

you are extraordinary

I was blurfing this morning and discovered that Authentique had a September Sketch challenge going on. I instantly fell in love with the sketch and knew I had to play along.

I apologize my photo did not turn out the best but I tried taking it inside instead of running outside. Didn't think the neighbors needed to see me in my pj's.

Here is the sketch that I fell in love with. I used papers and diction stickers from the "Uncommon" collection.

Thanks for stopping by to look.
Enjoy!

happy holidays

I just realized I need to get busy and start working on my holiday cards. I looked at my stash and I could count the number of cards completed so far on one hand.

I used this weeks Skipping Stones Design Sketch as an opportunity to start working on them.

I used papers and stamps by My Minds Eye from the "lost and found Christmas" collection. I love the fact that they create stamps for all their paper collections and at a reasonable price. Usually less than $6 at my LSS.

Here is the sketch that I used for inspiration.

joyful

I have a quick card to share with you that I made earlier today for the newest sketch over at Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.

Here is this weeks sketch that I used for my inspiration.

Once again I have used my PPRS "hibiscus" flower on this card along with a music stamp by Stampendous, and papers by Teresa Collins. I am wishing I would have waited one day to make my card as the new stamp and die I won from them arrived today right after I finished my card.

Thanks for stopping by to look. Your comments are always welcome and appreciated.

fall weather

We are finally having my favorite kind of weather here in Minnesota. Yesterday afternoon we were almost 90 degrees and then about 7 pm a cool breeze rolled through and now we are having just gorgeous weather here. Now if it would only stay this way all year I would be one happy camper.

I have a couple cards to share that I made the last few days.

First up is the card I made for the recent challenge over at Sweet Sunday.

I used one of Arielle's digital images on my card and this sketch for my inspiration.

Next up is a card that I created for this weeks sketch challenge over at Card Patterns. I used paper and stamps from My Minds Eye "Lost and Found Two" collection.

And here is the sketch for this week.
