Art Impressions 'Try'Fold Launch

Today the Art Impressions design team is launching the new 'Try'Folds stamp sets.

I played with  'Messy House' and had so much fun coloring up all the little details in this kitchen scene.

I created a regular top folding A2 card and then attached the orange piece of cardstock to the front of the card and then added the 'Try'Fold card on top of that. I then tied some twine around the front of the card to hold it together for the recipient

Once the twine is removed you can open up the front of the card and see the full inside image as well as the sentiment.

Make sure you stop over at the Art Impressions blog and check out all the 'Try'Fold sets.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

Birthday Wishes ~ Art Impressions Gazebo

Thursday that means that I am up on the Art Impressions blog today!

Today I am sharing a card that I created using one of the  'Try'Fold stamp sets.

I used the Gazebo set, my distress markers and a paintbrush.

I colored the distress marker on my acrylic block and then lifted the color off with a wet paintbrush. More water on your brush gives you a lighter color so if you want a dark color just use less water.

Here is the card once I removed the twine that is tied around it.

And finally here is the card once it is totally opened up.

This was my second attempt at making one of the 'Try'Folds and I have to admit I was scared at first but the instructions that come with the stamp set worked out perfectly. When you follow the directions. More on that in my 2nd post today.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Get Well - PoppyStamps

I am up on the PoppyStamps blog today sharing this card I created using the Thicket Wreath and Delaney Butterfly.

I must admit I am in love with this wreath die and love how you can layer it as much or as little you want by adding more leaves to it using the individual leaf dies that are included with the wreath die in the set.

I cut out two of the Delaney butterflys using Kraft cardstock and mounted them on top of each other to give it a little bit more dimension. I added some MME wood dots and used the alpha stickers by Tim Holts.

Thanks for stopping by and as always your comments are appreciated.

Hello ~ Need a Crown? STS21

We have a new sketch for you today over at Seize the Sketch.

Our sketch was created by Lori.

For my card I pulled out one of my new favorite stamps by Art Impressions.

Meet Golden Oldie Agnes. She reminds me of how one would dress if they were to attend the Kentucky Derby.

I used the sentiment from the Ai People Crown Set.

Instead of my usual Copic marker coloring I pulled out my set of watercolors and painted her. I definitely need more practice but am happy with my first shot at it.

Make sure you stop over at the Seize the Sketch blog and check out what the rest of the design team created with this sketch.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

Born to be Wild ~ Art Impressions

Meet the 'Mad Rider'!

I am on a mission to use my uninked rubber stamps and this little one just happened to be next in the pile.

I used my three current favorite colors on this card. Green, Orange and Purple. I don't wear purple or orange but lately am loving those colors.

I added a smaller banner in the left hand corner and then while I was stamping the sentiment in the upper right corner I got some ink down low near the front time and had to add a larger banner to the card. Then of course I needed something to go on top the banner and the best thing I could find was this flair badge that I got from my cousin. She picked it up at JCPenney two years ago when they were handing them out.

Enjoy

Today is day two of using my stamps and dies instead of putting them in the proper place the minute I receive them .

Do you do the same thing? Order a stamp and/or die set and then when you receive it you put it in with all your others and don't touch it? I have so many that haven't seen the light of day since I bought them, but that is all about to change.

This is a stamp and die set that I bought from PTI called Phrase Play 4. I loved it so much and just had to have it, but haven't touched any of the ones in this collection either.

I used papers from the Studio Calico Lemon Lush collection along with a gold chipboard star by them as well.

Now 2 days down of using some of my dies and stamps. I should be all caught up by Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

with sympathy

So are you like me and do you have stamps in your collections that you haven't even inked up yet?

I have so many that I have decided to start inking them up and using them.

Let me introduce to you PTI ~ Life is Beautiful along with PTI - Keep it Simple ~ Sympathy. Two sets that I recently purchased along with a matching die.

I stamped the butterflies with PTI inks and then added some watercolor using my distress markers. I then cut out of the butterfly dies using vellum and sewed it on to give it a little more texture.

Now I can say that I have used the stamps and dies and can file this set away.

29 Again?

Thursday and that means it is my day over on the Art Impressions blog.

Let me introduce you to one of the newest additions to the Ai People family!

Don't you just love her dress and tennis shoes? I added some glossy accents to the balloon.

is it coffee yet?

I received a few new stamps in the mail and couldn't wait to ink up this Mini Maude by Art Impressions so when I saw this weeks sketch at Retro Sketches it was the perfect opportunity.

My card is 3.5 x 5 and fits a 4 bar envelope.

I love the grouchy look on her face which made me think she hadn't had enough coffee so I added the coffee stamp also by Art Impressions.

Here is the sketch I used for the inspiration on my card layout.

I used some new papers, chipboard and rub-ons by Pebbles, Inc., from the Garden Party collection.

Sorry about the quality of the photo I used my iPhone instead of my usual camera today.

Online Card Class ~ Watercolor ~ Day 6

This class is going by quickly and I have a card to share with you from Day 6.

I used a couple of new stamp sets that I bought recently by PaperTrey Ink and Avery Elle.

You can't see it real well but the card is full of shimmer. In this lesson we learned how to watercolor with distress markers and liquid shimmer.

I loved this technique and will definitely be trying it again.

Online Card Class ~ Watercolor ~ Day 5

Wasn't sure I was going to share my card from day 5 with you as I wasn't sure if I was crazy about it or not.

But since I have shared every card with you that I have created from this class I am sharing this one as well.

Lets just say I have a ways to go in the watercolor arena.

Online Card Class ~ Watercolor Day 3

I have been waiting for my stamp I ordered so I can do Day 3 of class using the marker technique that Kristina showed us. While going through my Feedly yesterday I found a video by Dawn at WPlus9 showing a similar technique.

And it was perfect for Day 3 of class.

The homework was to color directly on your stamps with markers and then paint with water after you stamped it.

This is my first attempt at this technique so I still have a ways to go, but I am happy with it.

Here is the finished card.

I used the WPlus9 Fresh Cut Floral stamp set and the cup and sentiment are by Paper Smooches.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.
