I was bored this evening so decided to make a quick card using some of my washi tape along with a new stamp set I got today.

I finally bought a Paper Smooches stamp set (simply said).

I can't wait for tomorrow as it is the first day of my July Studio Calico class which is a stamping class. 

It was $29 for the class and includes this awesome stamp set. Can't wait for class to start.

I have been taking a new class with them each month, but this is the first one that is not scrapbook related.

Here is another card that I created this morning while the rest of the family was sleeping.

I used my "lost & found christmas" papers by My Minds Eye along with a digital image from my stash, joy tag by chic tags, a christmas chipboard button and joy image from my stash.

I created this card for this weeks challenge over at Jingle Belles which is to make a vintage Christmas card.

I was up earlier than normal this morning and decided to make a card or two before the rest of the family woke up.

I used one of the new My Minds Eye paper pads that I picked up at Homegoods last week called "darling dear" from the six by six collection along with some EAD vinyl rubons by Paper Smooches that have been in my stash for about a year. I decided to put lots of them as my main focal point of the card.

I used this weeks sketch over at Clean and Simple Stamping as my inspiration.

friday layouts

I have been hard at work using my Studio Calico June kit so i can finish it up before the July kit arrives in another 7 - 10 days.

Here are some of the layouts I created in past couple days.

I love the look on Ryders' face as he is riding his rocking horse.

This next photo is Adrian playing with his Dad's guitar.

You will notice on all of these layouts that I don't do any actual journaling on them. I leave that for the boy's Mom to do when she gets these in the mail.

This last layout is of my son Justin and his cousin/god-sister Kate. I am so happy they are good friends as well as cousins. Kate is our god-daughter and her parents are Justin's god-parents.

Also I have a technical question for you. Do you know how to make the photos larger in Blogger without overlapping on the side bar of my blog. If I pick xlarge photos as the option the photo goes over into my sidebar. I have seen others do this on their blogs just not sure how to tweak mine to do the same.

merry monday #26

A quick card to share with you today that I created for this weeks Merry Monday challenge.

Once again I pulled out my favorite Christmas papers and embellishments by October Afternoon from the "holiday style" collection. The sentiment is by DeNami and the ribbon is from my ribbon shop.

Here is a photo of Micah on his way home from Vacation Bible School today. They made hats in class today. It reminds me of an Easter bonnet.

He had a really good time and is looking forward to going back tomorrow.

We are week three challenge number three over at the online class I am taking this month.

The newest challenge is a sketch challenge along with that we are to use paint on our layout and let it drip down the page.

Okay, I have to admit that I did that paint drippage, but am not really a fan of that look. But part of taking the class is branching out and doing things I don't normally do.

I am however really enjoying this class. I like creating a kit and working from only that when I scrapbook. It cuts down on the choices and the layouts seem to go a lot quicker than when I would hunt for items to use on layouts.

It is a beautiful day here in Minnesota and I have a quick card to share with you.

I created this card using October Afternoon papers and embellishments from the "holiday style" collection along with a sentiment by Penny Black.

Well you know I just had to play along with this challenge since I love making rolled flowers and could probably do it with my eyes closed.

rainy day layouts

We have had hot, humid and rain off and on for the past three days. When it wasn't too hot to be upstairs in my craftroom I spent time working on some scrapbook layouts.

This first layout is for the online class I am taking. We were to do some paint drippage on our layout. I did it but still not sure I care for it. 

It kind of looks like the bucket Ryder is sitting in sprang a leak and water is spilling everywhere. lol

The journal card will be empty until his Mom can fill it in. I usually do the titles and she does the journaling.

This next layout is done with 3 photos that Micah's mom texted to me last night to show me how he combed his hair after his shower.

I had so much fun creating this layout and I love the middle photo of Micah. He reminds me of one of the lollipop kids in the "wizard of oz".

This last layout was also sent to me in a text message yesterday of Micah and his favorite dump truck. 

I used the Echo Park "toy box" mini-theme kit for this layout along with some thickers I had in my stash.

happy holidays

Yep, two cards in a row. My mojo is definitely back.

I haven't played along with the sketch over at Clean and Simple for awhile and when I saw the sketch today while blurfing I decided to play.

Since I still had my Christmas bin on my desk I decided to turn this sketch into another Christmas card.

I used an old Penny Black sticker along with a rub-on, button and twine from my stash. It was a really quick card.

It's Monday and that means time for another sketch challenge over at Merry Monday and it also means another Christmas card added to the done pile.

For my card once again I have used papers by October Afternoon from the "holiday style" collection along with an old embellishment by K&Company that has been in my Christmas bin for about 4 years now.

I have never done a card with a topper and when I saw the sketch i knew I had to play along with them.

The Paper Players are celebrating their 100th challenge this week and this weeks challenge is to use any previous sketch and create a card.

As soon as I saw the challenge I was off to look at the blog and to take a look at all the past sketches. I chose to work with sketch #69.

I used some new My Minds Eye 6x6 pads that I picked up on Friday at HomeGoods. I had never been to that store before but when I found out they had 6x6 paper pads for $2.99 well I just had to go check it out. I picked up 7 new MME pads that I had not seen before.

Here is another layout of my great-nephews Ace and Ryder along with their Dad and Geema. They took a trip to the Equestrian Center to watch their Geema ride her horse Santana.

I used October Afternoon papers and embellishments from the "Sasparilla" collection. I am trying to decide if the layout is too busy looking.

Here is another layout from my online scrapbooking class that I am taking that entails using only the products you put into your kit.

This time it was a sketch challenge using a mask on your layout.

This is a layout of my god-daughter Kate and my great-nephew Adrian. Adrian calls Kate "auntie cake". This photo was taken when she went down to Texas to visit a few months ago.

I have had that canvas flower for awhile now and was glad I could finally use it on a layout.

Besides spraying the mask with some green Mr. Huey's spray I also used some white and black paint.

favorite layouts

I have been scrapbooking a lot lately and I wanted to share a few of my favorite layouts that I have done before I hand them over to Micah and Cassie's Mom and Dad.

This first one is probably my favorite. I love how I captured Micah doing his somersault and how it looks like he is standing on his head. He has really gotten good at doing them and it is so fun to watch.

As you can see I am still loving the splattering on the pages and do it on almost everyone that I create.

These photos are from Easter and I used some new die-cut picture frame stickers by K&Company. The package comes with an assortment of black and white frames which are so fun to put on your pictures.

This next one is Micah trying to blow up a water balloon. If you have never done it, it is almost impossible to do. It was fun watching his face as he tried though. This is another of my favorites from this batch that I did.

This last one is from a few weeks ago when I staye over and watched Micah while his parents were at work. It was really hot so we went outside and had homemade popsicles (juice and water) that his Dad had made for him.

I had so much fun creating a card yesterday that I decided to give the sketch over at "merry monday" a try this morning.

I pulled out my favorite holiday papers by October Afternoon from the "holiday style" collection and got to work creating this card.

I will definitely be using this one again and again, as it was easy, with lots of possiblities for different styles of cards.

hello "mojo"

Oh yes, you read that right, my card making "mojo" is slowly returning and I owe it all to the Hero Arts June Sketch challenge.

Don't you just love all 3 of these sketches? The one that had me at "hello" was the one with the fish tails. I love making them lately so it was only appropriate that my first card be made with them.

I used PB&J by BasicGrey. It is one of my all time favorites by them and I want to use it on everything.

It is hot and humid here in Minnesota so I have been trying to stay indoors where it is a just a little bit cooler.

This layout is one that I created this morning for my online scrapbooking class. It was a sketch challenge and we were to use pattern paper in the background, along with a painted section for our cluster of embellishments.

The class I am taking is one where we build our own kit to use and then for all of the challenges in the class you only use the supplies that are in your kit.

I am really enjoying the class and am learning quite a bit from our instructor Patty.

Here is a layout from the first challenge from my newest class I am taking over at Studio Calico called "Washi Tape Workshop".

The first challenge is to create to different types of layouts and one card using Washi Tape based on the first week handouts we were given.

I figured I better start using some of the 50 - 60 rolls of washi tape that I own. This picture of my great nephew Ryder was just perfect for this challenge.

New Class

I am taking an online scrapbooking class that is all about putting together a kit made from your own supplies and using that kit in the class.

We did our first challenge this week and it was to use a pattern paper as the background. Well as most of you know I am usually a white background kind of girl so this one was a little tough for me.

I do have to admit that after doing this challenge I am definitely going to be using more pattern papers in my backgrounds. I have already done two other layouts using this challenge.

All items on this page are from the kit that I put together for this class. I will be doing this more in the future as well. It helps to use those embellishments and papers that are just sitting around in your stash.

It is the one hour scrap over at Creative Scrappers and I just had to play along to see if I could get a layout done and posted within an hour.

I am happy to report that I did it all in 45 minutes.

I used papers and chipboard from the BasicGrey "pb&j" collection along with a star punch.
