Frame It!

Just a quick post to show you the frame I made for my oldest sister and best friend Sharon. I am heading up to Wahpeton for a few days with my niece Shannon and Micah.

I picked this frame up at Michael's really cheap added some Graphic 45 papers, some handmade paper flowers and leaves. Inserted a favorite old picture of my sister and Grandma Hattie Louise.

I love how it turned out and hope she does too. I might have to make a couple more of these as gifts for friends and family and maybe a couple to sell.

Let me know what you think of it. I sat and looked at the position of the papers for 2 days and finally decided on this layout. I might take some Thickers and add the word love across the bottom by the flowers. What do you think?

Project Tuesday ~ Gift Card Holder

Sorry I didn't blog yesterday but I was over taking care of my favorite little guy Micah. I will be taking a few more days in the next couple weeks to run back over there and also a trip to Wahpeton to visit family.

I took a video of him walking all over the place, but can't figure out how to add it to my blog so will do that later.

The challenge this week over at Project Tuesday using the tutorial they provided. It went together really quick and I love how it turned out.

I want to thank Rose for taking time to show me how to add my watermark to my cards. She made what I thought was really difficult into something really easy.

For this card I used the Cosmo Cricket "Early Bird" papers, Martha Stewart "Butterfly" punch, EK Success "Ticket" punch, Kaiser Craft pearls, PTI sentiment, & Sizzix Flower die.

Day 359 - Gloria's Signature Style

The challenge today over at 365 Cards was to create a card using the style of one of the DT members. Today's card was all about Gloria.

This was the perfect challenge as I happen to have the same exact papers from the new Graphic 45 8x8 paper pad called 'a proper gentleman'.

Here is Gloria's card that we were to be inspired by and then we were to cardlift some part of her card.

I added a Tim Holtz ticket and some PTI buttons to my card. Thanks Gloria for letting me lift a little bit of your card to mine.

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge

Here is another one of the cards that I created today while playing in my craftroom.

This card is for the SSSC57 and for this card I have used the new Graphic 45 8x8 papers from the 'le romantique' collection. Don't you just love the soft feel of the colors and patterns?

For this card I also used some May Arts ribbon, PTI vintage button and twine, and Marvy flower punch.

CPS 155

I spent a lay Sunday afternoon just watching some of my favorite movies (Angel Eyes & Bridget Jones Diary) and going through so of my scrapbooking idea files and getting rid of what no longer appeals to me. I even found a little time to make a couple of cards.

This card is for the new challenge over at Card Positioning Systems and for this one I used some of my new Graphic 45 papers from the 8x8 'on the boardwalk' collection. I love this collection the papers are just too much fun.

sunny days ahead

I have a couple of cards to show you this morning before I start getting ready for work at Anchor Paper today.

This first card is for yesterdays challenge over at 365 Cards and it was a sketch challenge by Sophie one of the DT members.

for this card I used Neenah solar white cardstock, May Arts ribbon, A Muse stamp, & Making Memories dimensional felt stickers from the "flutter" collection.

Project Tuesday

I love the Project Tuesday challenge over at Stamps & Smiles I always learn something new each week.

This weeks challenge was to make a Joy Fold Card. Really easy to do and although I am not crazy about the brown cardstock I used I think it turned out okay.

For this card I used the new Memory Box 6x6 papers called frond the colors are so soft and pretty. Lots of purples, blues, greens, with just a dash of dark chocolate brown. The stamp set is PTI "tea for two".

Home

Well I am home and unpacked so thought I would share with you some of the projects I worked on while in Hinkley, MN at Heritage Place.

My goal was to get Christmas books done and although I didn't get them all done I got a good majority of them done along with a few other things that I will share with you later this week. (need to add photos)

This is a 12x12 scrapbook page for Micah's album and it uses this cute little fireplace from the Cricut along with some little stockings that my friend Judy gave me. We just used the label maker to add the names to the stockings.

The next projects are the individual Christmas books that I started for Cassie and Micah. They are made from old Golden Books. Cassie's book is from the 1950's and Micah's book is from the 1970's. I will continue to add photos to the books each year and once they are 18 I will give the books to them as a Christmas gift.

I copied this idea from my friend Bonnie who always amazes me with how much talent she has. Wait until you see the frame project she worked on this past weekend. I will be posting that once I have a playdate over at her house and learn how to make it.

To all my amazing friends that I went scrapbooking with this past weekend I just want to say THANK YOU. You know who you are and you know what you did and for that I will always be grateful.

checking in

Just a quick note to say that I will be gone until late Sunday to my annual February scrapbooking retreat. Hopefully, this will get me back into a creative mood when I get home.

I was over taking care of Micah as he is sick with an ear infection and upper respiratory infection. Poor baby all he wanted to do was cuddle and rub his runny nose on my shirt. (yuck) I think that is part of being his Nana and it will all come out in the wash.

While I am gone enjoy a picture of my favorite little guy.

not another flower!

What can I say I love making flowers. Today I worked on a rose and for being my first try I must say I LOVE how it turned out.

I am not real crazy about the finished card but I am crazy about the rose. I think the next ones I make I will put onto a picture frame and then put an old photo of my mom in it.

The paper is from Webster Pages, buttons are PTI, the image is a Pure Innocence digi stamp, and the hearts are from a cuttlebug embossing folder.

Life's a Beach & more

I worked at Anchor Paper Express yesterday and was so excited to see that we got in the new Graphic 45 papers not only in the 12x12 single sheets, but also the 8x8 and 12x12 paper pads. Well I immediately scooped up one of each of the 8x8's. If you love vintage you will surely love these.

This card uses papers from the "on the boardwalk" collection. I also used a MS border punch, some may arts ribbon, and an EK Success ticket punch.

The other two paper packs are "le' romantique" (my favorite), and "a proper gentleman".

I also played with another new flower and this one is called the "lollipop". I need to practice cutting out circles as you can see mine is a little ovalish looking. The paper is Cosmo Cricket and I added stickles "frosted lace" to the edges. The button is Melon Berry by PTI.

Not sure what I will do with the flower yet as it is too big for a card, but will definitely use it on a layout.

Free Digi Stamps

Regina over at The Cutting Cafe is giving away two new stamp sets this weekend and a chance to win 4 more digi stamps of your choice.

As many of you know that read my blog I love flowers so this new set was perfect for me. I ran the flower through my big shot using the swiss dots embossing folder, added a button and ribbon from my stash.

fan flowers

Today I practiced making a couple of different kinds of flowers to share with you. These cards show the "fan flower" and they were so easy to make once I figured out the top/bottom and the inside/outside of the papers.

The flowers are made with BasicGrey "Origins" paper and the backgrounds of the cards are from DCWV "the green stack" mat pack. I love this paper more and more everytime I use it.

I also used pebblesinc. rubons, PTI vintage button, and American Crafts fabric brads.

I have one more card for today and this one is for the challenge at Our Creative Corner.

This is another fun sketch and it gave me another change to use my "simple valentine" papers from PTI, "thickers" from American Crafts, my "swiss dots" embossing folder from Cuttlebug, and my Fiskars "apron" border punch.

Now I have tons of Valentines to send out to those I love. Maybe each person will get more than one. I usually only give them to my hubby and son and then send one to my MIL, but this year I may have to pick a few more people to send them to.

Hearts

flower junkie

Okay I think I am addicted to paper flowers. I just love the look of them and they are so much fun to make. This evening while watching a movie from Netflix I decided to try and make a few paper roses.

And although I have not perfected them yet I like how they turned out. My next challenge will be to use them on a layout of Cassie.

The first two flowers are made out of patterned paper from American Crafts and October Afternoon. The 3rd flower which is my favorite is made out of my Nicholas Sparks paperback "Dear John". Once I got the flower complete I sprayed it with some gold and tiger lily glimmer mist.

You will definitely be seeing a few more of these flowers in the future.

Misc. Layouts

Here are a few of the layouts I did today of Micah. I am trying to finish up the 2nd book I started for him which is an 8.5x11 so I can start on his 3rd book. I have enough pictures of him to keep me busy for at least a year and he is only 10 months old.
