miss you

This is a just because card. I was catching up on a few things and decided to create a card using this new image by Tammy over at A Day for Daisies.

I just love the cute little snail on top of that flower.

Papers are new BasicGrey "hello luscious". This is by far the best collection they have come out with in ages. I love all the colors and flower patterns.

life of the party

I picked up the new BasicGrey 6x6 paper pad at Archivers at few days ago called "life of the party" and had to use it for a couple of cards I made this morning.

This first card is for Paige over at the Cards blog and she was looking for shaped cards so naturally I pulled out my favorite labels eight die.

I also used some new lovely May Arts ribbon that I bought at Anchor Paper yesterday while I was working, the organza bloom is made by me and the sentiments are some that I had in my stash.

I just love the vintage look of the papers in this collection.

My next card is for the challenge over at clean and simple and I once again used the "life of the party" papers.

I added some seam binding that I colored with a copic marker and some tiny type stickers by Cosmo Cricket.

all about hats

Friday and time for another new release at A Day for Daisies and this weeks new release is all about hats.

For my card this week I used the new release image called "vintage school girl 3". I used a new doily die by MFT that I received as a gift from my friend Michelle, some paper by Webster's Pages, my handmade wrinkle ribbon in tiger lily and a stick pin.

Speaking of my wrinkle ribbon I need to announce the winner of my drawing and that is "Arielle". So Arielle email me your address and I will get some of my ribbon in the mail to you.

fussy cutting and paper piecing

I have quite a few cards to share with you and this first one is for the newest challenge on my friend Yvonne's blog. Her guest designer this week is non other than Laurel Seabrook and she is challenging us to create a card or layout and do some paper piecing and fussy cutting.

Well you know that is a challenge that is right up my alley.

For my card I used a pure innocence stamp by MFT called "better get better" and I paper pieced and fussy cut all of the clothing and bear. The paper used is by MME fromt he Stella and Rose collection called "Gertie". Buttons are BasicGrey from my stash.

This next card is one of my favorites this week and I used a new digi image from Pixie Studios. I love the little girl images with the big eyes and I bought two different ones.

I also used some Washi tape, Cosmo Cricket "tiny type" stickers, Martha Stewart snowflake punch and my labels eight die to cut out the card.

Next up are a couple more digital images and these were bought over at Pink Petticoat another favorite digi supplier of mine.

Isn't this sewing machine just fabulous. With the digi set I got two different sewing machines and 4 different verses. I love the fact that you always get a mixture of images and sayings. Papers are also from the MME "Gertie" collection and buttons are from my stash.

This last card is also by Pink Petticoat and uses an amazing typewriter image. It comes with the typewriter and a full page of sentiments to put either on the typewriter or on the card.

I kept this card fairly simple and after coloring the typewriter I just added some Cosmo Cricket "tiny type" stickers and a little gloss enamel.

Wednesday and time for another great sketch challenge over at Sasya's Sketches.

For this weeks card I used papers by BasicGrey from the "curio" collection. The handmade muslin flower was created by me (I am addicted), the leaves are a die cut from Taylored Expressions and the tiny type stickers are by Cosmo Cricket. (I am addicted to them too)

I think it has offically stopped snowing now and Joe says we got about 15" of new snow.

Where the heck is Spring?

flowers

I absolutely love flowers and can not wait for all this snow to melt, the weather to get a little warmer and all my flowers to start popping out of the ground.

The first one up is usually my bleeding heart plant (it really is the size of a small tree) and oh so beautiful when it blooms.

Here are a couple of flowers I created yesterday while thinking about spring.

This first one is another digital image by my friend Arielle and you can get this one and many others at her store "wax fruit company".

I wasn't sure if I could color these Marigolds and do them justice so I decided to paper piece them. I used papers by MME from the Stella and Rose collection "mabel". I added a little black glaze pen to the center of the flowers to make them POP a little.

My next card is for a new sketch blog I found called "iheartart". Her sketches are amazing and I am so glad my friend Amy told me about her.

For this card I also used papers by MME from the Stella and Rose collection "gertie". The bloom is by Prima, stickers by October Afternoon and the ribbon is by me. (scroll down to my previous post I am doin a ribbon giveaway)

Here is the sketch that inspired my card. This one is definitely going into my new sketch book that I created yesterday.

the day after

I think the blizzard has finally moved on and we are left with about 15 inches of snow. I spent most of yesterday in my craftroom making cards.

My first card is a digital image by my friend Arielle who opened her own online store called "wax fruit company". Don't you just love that name and her images are amazing.

Here is a card I made using her newest release corn lilies. I probably have the colors wrong for this flower so I just went with what I thought looked pretty.

I colored the flowers with copic and spica glitter pens. The ribbon is my handmade wrinkle ribbon.

My next card is for this weeks challenge over at Card Positioning Systems and since we were in blizzard mode while I made it I decided to do a summery feeling card.

I used papers, stickers and wild cards from the October Afternoon "seaside collection".

YUMMY!!!

I met a friend for lunch yesterday and before I left the house I promised my guys I would bring them back a piece of cheesecake.

Here is a picture of Justin's raspberry cheesecake. I did not get a picture of Joe's caramel pecan turtle cheesecake before he ate his.

snow, snow and more snow

It is going to be one of those hunker down and stay inside kind of days here in Minnesota. They are predicting the Twin Cities "metro" area will see 12 - 15 inches of snow in the next 24 hours.

YUCK! Did I tell you I hate snow.

I have a couple cards to share with you today and this first one is for the challenge over at Techno Stamper.

For this card I used papers from Stella and Rose "Mabel" collection by My Minds Eye. The image is by Stampin' Up and that cute little sculpty flower is from Prima.

Here is the sketch that I used for my card.

My next card uses one of my first purchases from PTI which was the "tea for two" stamp set and I have been hooked ever since.  Papers are also by My Minds Eye from the "fine and dandy" collection. I added some of my handmade wrinkle ribbon.

I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch as my inspiration for this card.

Okay I am off to finish watching a movie I started this morning. If you are in Minnesota and are out on the roads today ~ be careful.

lazy day

I think it is going to be one of those lazy days here at my house so I started my day with catching up on a couple of shows on Hulu and making cards.

This card was created for this weeks challenge over at Clean and Simple and the challenge was to use one of our label dies on the card. Surprise, Surprise I had not used this new one from PTI yet.

Along with the label die from PTI I also used the butterfly die and sentiment by them. The papers are some that I picked up at Archivers' yesterday. These happen to be from the Stella and Rose collection by MME and the papers are called Hazel.

This is the sketch that inspired my card. Don't you just love this sketch? I had fun working with it.

Next up is a card I created for the challenge over on the Cards blog and this weeks challenge was to use Washi tape on your card. Well I had bought this Washi tape last Summer and had not used it yet, so this was the perfect challenge for me.

Along with the Washi tape I used a button by BasicGrey, clear flower by Heidi Swapp and the sentiment is a rub-on by Pebblesinc.

That nice weather we had this past week is now a thing of the past and we are looking at cold and snow mixed with some sleet this weekend.

Archiver's had free make n' takes starting today so I went and made the card and the tag and then I shopped. They had just got in all the new My Minds Eye Stella and Rose collections and I picked up all 4 of them in the 6x6 pads.

My first card uses papers from the "Hazel" collection. The sentiment is a sticker from SRM "wishing you well", the lace is May Arts mixed with some of my handmade wrinkle ribbon in tiger lily. The stamp is Hero Arts which I also picked up today along with a couple others.

I used this weeks sketch over at Just Add Ink for my inspiration on my card.

The next card I created is a just because card and then I found a new challenge blog called Use it Tuesday and new I had to enter this into their first challenge which is to use a new image that you have never used before. I bought a new Hero Arts  stamp at Archivers today and wanted to play with it...so I created this card.

The stamp is called "large blossom" and I colored it with distress inks and water. The ribbon is my handmade wrinkle ribbon, sentiment is an SRM sticker from the "wishing you well" collection and the embossing folder is SU "vintage wallpaper".

Now this last set of cards is 3 of 5 that I made for my older sister Sharon. She told me on the phone she needs more kids birthday cards so that is one of my projects this weekend.

Isn't that little monster cute? I love the googily eye I put on them. I colored them with copics, embossed the backgrounds with sizzix embossing folders, the balloon is a QuicKutz die that I picked up today. The sentiments are rub-ons by Pebblesinc.

life is good

There is a new sketch challenge over at Limelight Papercrafts and besides using the sketch we are to use string.

Well I had all my new stuff on my desk and decided to go with an all Prima card today with a sticker from SRM "birdie" collection.

Don't you just love that Down Downey "sculpty" flower by prima mixed with a prima flourish and papers? The sentiment is SRM and twine is from The Twinery.

I love buying the large Prima flourishes and then cutting them down and just using portions of them on a card or layout.

happy anniversary

I found a new card challenge called Less is More and this weeks challenge is to do a one layer card using trees or flowers.

Here is my take on that challenge.

I needed a couple of anniversary cards in my stash and thought this would be the perfect time to make them. I used a Hero Arts stamp along with a sentiment byt PTI.

I also have my weekly scrapbook layout to share with you. So far I am on track for doing at least one layout a week. I used some old papers I had in my stash along with some chipboard letters that I have had for a couple years.

hello ~ bring on the birthday

I have a couple cards to share with you that I made while catching up on a couple of shows I recorded.

The first card is for this weeks CPS205 challenge and I took the liberty of rotating the sketch for my card.

I had ordered some new papers and flowers from Two Peas and they arrived today so of course I had to play with them. Papers and flowers are from the "madeline" collection by Prima. i also used a PTI dress form and leaf die from Taylored Expressions.

My next card is for this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch and once again I have used flowers and papers from the Madeline collection.

I am trying to use up some of my 6x6 paper pads and I created this card using some of my Webster's Pages. I don't know about you but I find it hard to create with this paper and therefore it sits in a pile with some of my older papers yet to be touched.

I created my card for this weeks sketch challenge over at Sasya's Sketches and along with the Webster's Pages paper I used some of my handmade wrinkle ribbon, antique linen distress ink, and Cosmo Cricket "tiny type" stickers.

happy valentine's day

I have a card to share with you today that I created using the newest Friend's of Speedy the Cat over at Mark's Finest Papers.

Isn't that image just adorable? It is one of the newest "special editions" images available through Lori Boyd. This one is called Davey's Teddy and he is one of several new combination digital stamps that Mercy and Arielle have created by joining two of Lori's images together.

Here is the sketch that inspired my card. Along with the new image by Lori Boyd I used papers from the My Minds Eye "Twig" collection, October Afternoon stickers and SU embossing folder.
