While I was watching GLEE today I decided to whip up a little card for the newest challenge over at Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge. It also gave me a chance to play with one of my digital images I had not played with before.

This is Ethan byLORIdesigns and he is available at The Lollipop Shop. Isn't he adorable with his cute skaterboy haircut and board?

We are enjoying beautiiful fall weather here in Minnesota and the trees are starting to turn beautiful shades of orange and gold. I will be spending tomorrow with Micah and am hoping to walk to the park and enjoy the nice weather.

I can't believe that it is already Wednesday and time for another sketch challenge over at Sasya's Sketches.

I must admit that this card took me a lot longer than I thought it would as I could not decide what I wanted for my focal point and until I did that, I could not pick the papers and embellishments to go with it.

happy halloween ~ thinking of you

Okay a couple more cards to share with you today. The first card is for the very first baby bud design challenge and that challenge is to create an Autumn or Halloween card.

For my card I am using this cute "Autumn" digital stamp. Isn't she just adorable with all that curly hair. Papers are by KandCompany.

I used glossy accents on the buttons and spica glitter in her curls.

For my next card  I used the sketch from WaltzingMouse for my inspiration. Isn't this a fun sketch?

For my card I used papers from the Cosmo Cricket "togetherness" collection along with a butterfly from PTI, and rub-ons by pebblesinc.

Christmas Card ~ Need Your Help

While I was working at Anchor Paper yesterday I saw the cutest new Penny Black stamp set that had just arrived at the store and I knew I had to make it mine. It was the only one left so I grabbed it quick.

Today I had a chance to play with the stamp set and made 4 different cards and here is where your help comes in. Can you take a look at the 4 cards below and looking at design only let me know which you prefer?

Flash Back Friday

My friend Amy has this challenge that she is now doing monthly called "flash back friday". And she usually gets us to post things and embarrass ourselves.

This month Amy wants us to post our first card that we ever submitted to a Challenge blog. So here is my first card and it was submitted to "365 Cards" on April 30th, 2009 for the "leaf it up" challenge.

Okay as you can see I wasn't very good at this blog thing and I scanned a cropped my card before submitting it. Talk about a boring flat card.  You can find the original blog post here.

So now Amy has gotten me to play along and next month she will probably want me to post my naked baby picture or something odd like that. lol

techno stamper 140

It has been raining here off and on for a couple of days so I have been in the craftroom watching chick flicks and creating cards and scrapbook layouts.

My card today is for this weeks challenge over at Techno Stamper and it is a sketch challenge. Once again I have used some new papers by BasicGrey from the "pyrus" collection which I picked up at Anchor Paper Express the other day. I just love the patterns and fall colors in this paper pad.

This was a fun card to create especially the section with the nestability labels 8 die. I cut out two the same size and then trimmed one down an 1/8th of an inch to get the thin border.

TMS#60 ~ and just because card

This is my second post for today since I have a few cards on my craft table that I have not shared with you yet.

I decided to do this weeks challenge over at the Tuesday Morning Sketches and this week we were  to use handmade flowers on our card or layout. This was perfect for me as I had this muslin rosette just sitting on my table waiting to be used somewhere, I had made two of them a couple weeks back and only used one on my garden scrapbook layout.

Along with my handmade flower I used papers from basicgrey "pyrus" collection, some may arts ribbon, SU leaf and my labels 8 nestability for the shape of the card.

I distressed the edges of the BG paper to give it that shabby look like the muslin flower.

My next card is a just because I wanted to make a card using my new stamp that I won from Claudia and Company for being last months blog hop winner. Don't you just love Birthday Lily? She is one of the puddle jumpers created by Lori Boyd.

I had so much fun coloring her in and adding the glossy accents to parts of her dress, balloon, and present.

Mojo Monday 157 ~ happy birthday

I noticed that I have been making a lot of birthday cards lately. Not sure why but that seems to be the trend for the last 4 or 5 cards I have made.

I haven't played along with the Mojo Monday sketch in awhile and wanted to join in this week once I saw the sketch. I knew that my new "wanderer" papers and "woolies" by BasicGrey would be the perfect fit.

It looks like we are in for a couple of really wet days so that means I will be staying inside where it is dry watching a chick flick or two and doing something crafty.

My first card is for this weeks challenge over at The Pink Elephant and it is a recipe challenge. We are to create a card using the color Aqua, designer Paper, and an embellishment of our choice.

For this card I used SugarStick Presley available at The Lollipop Shop along with pattern paper from Cosmo Cricket "togetherness" collection,, a fiskars scallop border and button by BasicGrey.

This weeks challenge over at A Crafty Little Place was a color challenge and we are to use Brown, Green, and Orange on our card.

For this card I used SugarStick Maisie along with some new papers by BasicGrey "pyrus", a digital library card, and some Cosmo Cricket "tiny type" stickers.

SS29 ~ have a merry

It is Wednesday and that means time for a new Sketch challenge over at Sasya's Sketches. This weeks sketch is a fun one which I think you will really enjoy.

For my card I used some Kraft card stock and embossed part of it with a Cuttlebug embossing folder, papers are by BasicGrey from the "Jovial" collection. The star is a nestability die, the sentiment is by My Sentiments Exactly, and the button is BasicGrey.

I finally had some time to work on a card challenge today after being sick with some kind of bug yesterday.

My card today qualifies for a couple of challenges. The first one being the newest challenge at The Ribbon Girl where the challenge was to use orange, black and white on your card. I used the sketch from this weeks challenge over at CPS Card Sketches.

For this card I used lollipop landon digital stamp byLoriDesigns available at The Lollipop Shop.

As you can see along with the digital image I used papers by The Girls Paperie from the "toil and trouble" line, stickers by SRM, and I actually sewed on this card. Since I am not a person who normally sews I need to work on getting the right tension and sewing straight. lol

introducing

Just a quick post to introduce you to my newest great niece Haylee Skye arrived at 7:59 am on September 16, 2010 weighing 6 lbs. 14 oz. and 19 1/2" long.

Welcomed into this world by her Dad (Joshua Sr.), Mom (Amanda) and brothers Joshua Jr., and Isaac.

I can't wait to head up to North Dakota and meet my newest great niece.

Happy Friday Almost

Last week I decided to step out on a limb and create something for a publication call. I had never done this before so was really nervous and being a person who hates rejection did not want to put myself out there.  Well I heard today that they sent out the acceptance emails and since I did not get one in my mailbox I thought it would be okay to share the two cards with you.

I guess rejection is not as bad as I thought it would be and am already planning my next publication submission.

Both cards are baby themed and I used digital images byLORIdesigns available at The Lollipop Shop.

My last card is for the newest challenge at Techno Stamper and I have used "lollipop ella" along with some Cosmo Cricket "togetherness" papers.

Claudia and Co. Challenge #4 "Red"

This months challenge over at Claudia and Company is to use Red on your card. It can't get an easier than that.

No Card Saturday

Yesterday I had the best day with my BFF Judy as it was her birthday and I took her out to lunch and her niece, nephew and great nephew joined us. After lunch we did a little bit of shopping. Those of you that follow my blog know that Judy is my other BFF Jeanne's twin sister and we lost Jeanne to Pancreatic Cancer last January.

I wanted to share a picture of them at one of the last retreats we shared together.

Judy is on the left and Jeanne is on the right. It was a great scrapbooking retreat and we were up there about a week. I will remember the fun times we had forever.

I absolutely love these sweet little lollipop digital stamps by Lori Boyd and sweet Ella is one of my favorites. Don't you just love that polka dot dress?

There is a sketch challenge over at A Crafty Little Place and I thought she would be perfect for it.

I used some BasicGrey papers and buttons from the "Olivia" collection. The tiny type stickers are by Cosmo Cricket.

clearly twisted ~ happy fall

I have two cards to share with you today that I worked on while Skyping with my friend Michelle the other day.

The first card is for this weeks challenge over at Clean and Simple Stamping. If I haven't said it before I love these sketches. I think clean and simple is closest to my heart when I create cards or scrapbook layouts.

For this card I used the PTI "autumn abundance" paper pad from last year along with a quickutz leaf die and some cosmo cricket "tiny type" stickers.

This next card drove me a little bit crazy. I have never made a clear card before and the challenge over at Twisted Sketches this week was to make it clear anyway anyhow.

I used October Afternoon "thriftshop" for my card along with some rolled flowers and sizzix flower dies. I think I really like how it turned out ~ I just need to figure out how to write in it. I think I will just cut a piece of cardstock for the inside and write on that and the recipient can just pull that paper out and then reuse the card if they want to. This card was really hard to photograph so I apologize for that.

When I saw the sketch for this weeks challenge over at Sasya's Sketches I immediately thought Valentine's Day, well I didn't want to rush the holidays so I changed it to a Christmas Card.

With that being decided I knew that I wanted to use some of my new BasicGrey "jovial" 6x6 paper pad and woolies for my card. I hate to say this but I think you are going to be seeing a lot of these papers in the coming weeks.

I kind of think the snowman is a little creepy looking and I kind of like that. lol

The embossed background is a QuicKutz die, the little snowflakes are from Spellbinders and the tiny type stickers are from Cosmo Cricket.

Project Tuesday ~ Gate Fold Card

Well it is Tuesday and that means time for another Project Tuesday Challenge. This week we are creating a Gate Fold card. So I hope you will play along with us. All inistructions for making the card can be found here.

For my card I used this wonderful stamp set from Prickley Pear and it was a gift from my sweet blog friend Tesa.

 The papers are BasicGrey from the Oliver collection. I added ranger distress inks to the flowers and some PTI vintage buttons. I then added the same papers to the inside of the card.

I hope you will take some time this week to play along with us over at Project Tuesday. This will be my last week as a Design Team member, but I hope to find time to play along with everyone once in awhile.
