white on white

I created a card for the newest challenge over at "less is more" and this weeks challenge was to use any 3 previous challenges and create a card with them.

I used the following challenges on my card:

week 14 ~ white on white
week 15 ~ embossing
week 16 ~ butterflies
week 10 ~ sentiment only

This was a fun challenge and it gave me a chance to use my new BasicGrey by Sizzix embossing folder along with my PTI fillable frames #2 stamps.

Enjoy!

halloween night

Friday and time for another new release by Tammy at A Day for Daisies. This week we are bringing out some fun Halloween images.

I got to play with "happy halloween night" and I had so much fun coloring it. The papers I used are by We R Memory Keepers.

I used this weeks challenge over at CPS for my layout inspiration this week.

Here are all of this weeks new images and if you stop by the ADFD blog you can see all the samples that the design team came up with.

Don't forget you still have one week to join in on this weeks challenge which is to use twine on your card or layout along with one of the images from A Day for Daisies.

Enjoy!

bloom on

I have another quick card to share with you today that I created for the challenge over at Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.

I used my favorite stamp set by PPRS along with some My Minds Eye Papers from the "sunshine" collection. I also used some distress inks.

Here is the sketch I used for the inspiration for my card.

Well that is it for me today. Thanks for stopping by and as usual your comments are appreciated. I am off to the grocery store as I am in the mood to make some lasagna for dinner.

happy day

I just got back from my weekly pool date with Micah and his Mom and thought I would share a card that I created early this morning.

I picked up all of the new Lost and Found Two 6x6 pads at Archivers this past week and could not wait to make a card or two with the "Rosy" collection.

These papers are absolutely perfect for card making. Due to all the beautiful elements right on the paper you don't even need to stamp. All I did was add a border and a button with some twine and it was done. A very easy birthday card.

I think my favorite is the "blush" and I am making a dance scrapbook with it for Cassie. I will share once I have the photos added to it.

Thanks for stopping by to look and as always your comments are appreciated.

out of print

I think "out of print" has to be my favorite all time release by BasicGrey. I have bought a ton of it and used it on a couple of Mini albums along with some scrapbook layouts and even a few cards and I still want to run out and buy more before it is gone.

Today I used it on this weeks sketch over at CPS (card positioning systems) along with a Martha Stewart "butterfly" punch and some Cosmo Cricket "tiny type" stickers.

I really like this sketch and will be adding it to my 2011 sketchbook for use again in the future.

Thanks for stopping by to look and your comments are not only welcome but they are appreciated too.

let loose upon the earth

I was playing with my Authentic "glowing" papers and icons again today along with this weeks challenge over at Sweet Sunday Sketch.

And here is the sketch that inspired my card. As you can see I rotated the sketch a little.

Thanks for stopping by to look.

grateful for you

I have a really clean and simple card for you today that I created for this weeks CAS-ual Friday challenge.

The challenge this week is to use embossing either dry or heat embossing and for my card I did a little bit of both.

Sorry the picture is so dark I could not get a good photo today and when I tried adjusting the colors in photoshop it just kept getting grayer.

Thanks for stopping by to look.

happy haunting

I created a quick card this morning using the August sketch over at I heart to stamp and some new papers and icons by Authentique that I picked up at Archiver's yesterday.

If you have't seen this paper collection it is absolutely beautiful. I love the colors, the patterns and all the embellishments that go along with it.

turning six

It is finally Friday and that means time for a new release and a challenge over at the A Day for Daisies Blog.

The challenge this week is to use Twine on your card.

I used the image called "turning six" on my card along with some papers from My Minds Eye and twine from "the twinery".

I used this weeks sketch over at CPS for the inspiration behind my card.

Here are all of this weeks new releases.

I hope you will join us this week in the challenge and remember to be entered you need to use one of the A Day for Daisies images along with some twine from your stash.

Thanks for stopping by to look. Your comments are appreciated.

laugh

Don't you just love the sound of a child laughing? I spent yesterday at a neighborhood park with my two little grandkids and we had so much fun.

I created a card today for this weeks sketch over at Sweet Sunday and it reminds me of the fun I had today which is just what I needed as I have been feeling a little down lately.

Here is the sketch that inspired my card.

And here are a couple of pictures from today.

Thanks for stopping by to look and as usual I love to read your comments.

white space

I have a couple new cards to share with you today.

First up is the card I made for this weeks challenge over at the Less is More Challenge. This week we were to make a one layer card which for me is usually the hardest since I usually put patterned paper on everything.

I used distress inks and this tree image and although I think the image is a little darker than I originally had planned for I think I am okay with it.

Next up CAS-ual Fridays and Clean and Simple stamping have joined forces this week and have come up with a sketch challenge for us.

I opted to go for lots of white space on this one two and just add a small strip of pattern paper to the image.

Thanks for stopping by to look. I appreciate your comments.

indie bloom

Have you seen the new collection Indie Bloom by BasicGrey yet? I absolutely love the patterns, colors and felt flowers in this collection.

I like it so much I used it for both of today's cards.

First up is the card that I created for this weeks challenge over at Card Patterns.

I think this orange and green is my favorite two pieces in the collection. Here is the sketch I used for my inspiration.

Next I used the pink and teal from the collection and created a card for the challenge over at Taylored Expressions.

Thanks for stopping by and I really appreciate your comments.

bugs and bears

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile but I was out of town visiting my sister who was sick and needed someone to bring her hot soup.

I bought a new paper collection at Anchor Paper a few weeks back called "hunt and gather" by KaiserCraft and have totally fallen in love with it. Along with the 6x6 pad I bought the journal tag sheet. I grabbed some buttons and twine along with my favorite border punch and I started making cards using all of the journal tags.

I now have 12 masculine birthday cards when I need them. I am sharing two of them with you today and am entering them in this weeks Wee Memories Challenge #64 "Masculine Challenge".

I absolutely love the papers and colors in this collection.

Thanks for stopping by to look and you know I appreciate your comments. Stop back tomorrow for a couple of cards created with the new BasicGrey "Indie Bloom".

Enjoy!

happy birthday

Happy Birthday to YOU
Happy Birthday to YOU
Happy Birthday dear friend AMY
Happy birthday to YOU!

Today is my blog buddy Amy's birthday and we are doing a little surprise for her here in blog land.

Here is the card I made for her and quickly put in the mail so it would arrive on time and wouldn't you know it I forgot to take a photo so I had to ask Amy to send me a copy of the card for my files. (insert evil grin here)

If you know Amy stop over and tell her happy birthday and that I sent you and if you don't know her, stop over and have a look at all the wonderful cards and layouts she creates on a daily basis.

swim?

I picked up a couple of the new images over at By Lori Designs and noticed that they were having a inspiration challenge too.

So it was the perfect opportunity to color one of the images up and play along.

Here is the picture we were to use for inspiration.

I used papers by Echo Park from the "dots and stripes" collections.

Sorry the coloring is off on my photo these really are a bright pink and lime green color.

Thanks for stopping by to look and I appreciate your comments.

play on

It is Friday and time for a new release and a new challenge over at A Day for Daisies.

This week the challenge is all about Folds anyway and anyhow!

For my card i used Tammy's new image called "little piano" and I went pretty clean and simple on my card (surprise)! Just the image a quick outline with a couple of copic markers and a piece of my hand dyed wrinkle ribbon and we were ready to make the card.

I cut two squares for the main front and back 5" square and then a I took a strip of cardstock 4x12 and scored and folded it at 3" intervals. Then I placed one of the 5" square pieces down on the table and adhered adhesive to the back of the 4"x12" piece and then I repeated this on the top by adding more adhesive and then finally placing the other 5" square on top.

I hope that makes sense it is a lot harder to describe than I thought it would be.  If you have questions please feel free to leave me a comment or email me and I will get back to you.

Here are all of this weeks new releases.

Thanks for stopping by to look I hope you will play along with us this week.

Enjoy!

pool boy

I fell in love with all the summer images that Lori Boyd came out with and could not resist playing with "summertime Todd" one of her new puddle jumpers.

This little guy reminds me of Micah on our weekly trips to the local pool where he likes to splash me.

I used the sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday for my inspiration along with some dots and dash papers by Echo Park.

Thanks for stopping by to look.
