Happy Halloween

I made another card this morning before I left for work at Anchor Paper and didn't get a chance to post it. So while sitting here relaxing with a very large glass of my favorite wine (pinot grigio) thought I would post it.

The sketch challege is from Clean & Simple FTL 66 and once again I used the Sassafrass Monstrosity paper and feltie, also used were pebblesinc. rub-on, Neenah black and classic crest natural white cardstock.

Inchies

I could not sleep so decided to get up and do a card challenge or two before going to work at Anchor Paper this morning. My first stop was 365 Cards and the challenge there for Day 245 is called "It's a Matter of Inchies" and we are to use an inchie on our card.

This challenge gave me the opportunity to pull out all the supplies for making inchies that I bought this past summer at a LSS. The supplies are all by Karen Lockhart. I added a PTI vintage white button and some twine. Finished size is 3.5" square.

Silly Monster

Last week I found this new sketch blog called The Fresh Batch and I decided to play along again. As soon as I saw this sketch I knew I was going to use my new Monstrosity Wee Bundle by Sassafras. The papers are just to cute as is the Silly Monster felties. I added a little pom-pom ribbon and a scalloped edge to the card along with a stamped Happy Birthday on the inside. I am sure I can find a little boy or a big boy who will enjoy this card.

Well tomorrow is Halloween and I have to work at the LSS then come home and hopefully go visit Cassie and Micah to see them all dressed up in their costumes. What are your plans for this coming weekend?

Snow Place Like HOME

My card this morning is for the Paper Popsicles ~ Wacky Wednesday Hump Day Sketch #5.

For this card I used Neenah Natural White cardstock, Sizzix snowflake embossing folder, Martha Stewart snowflake punch, PTI vintage christmas button, Stampendous snow place stamp set and May Arts ribbon. I added a little bit of Martha Stewart Oyster glitter to the snowflakes and some dimensional glaze to the snowman.

Blossom

So are you shocked that I am posting yet another card today? I have a little list of the challenges that I want to complete this week and lately the list has not been getting done. I think I might actually complete the few challenges I have left yet this week.

This is the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #41 I love this sketch and as soon as I saw it I knew I was going to have to open up the seals on my new 6x6 pad of Early Bird by Cosmo Cricket. I also used my Cricut to cut out the blossoms, BasicGrey button, Pebblesinc. rub-ons, and some faux stitching and the card is complete.

Cup Cakes

The sketch for FTL65 gave me a chance to use some more of my new BasicGrey "Nook and Pantry" papers and woolies. I love the entire line. This card went together so fast I almost feel like I cheated.

I defintely see myself using this sketch over and over again as it is so simple.

Halloween Pumpkin Surprise

I thought I would share with you a picture of the Halloween Purse I made this past weekend with Cassie and her friend Kalley. I think they turned out just too cute. I saw this idea when I was working at Anchor Paper a week ago and had to make them too. Anchor carries all kinds of die cuts that you can use as long as you buy the paper from them. You can't tell by the orange paper but it has a little bit of shimmer on it. For the face we used the new EK large pumpkin face punch and then after we filled the inside of the little pumpkin we tied assorted May Arts ribbons to the handle.

This little guy is going over to my Mother-in-law today along with a Halloween Card that I made for her.

Furry Friend

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days I think I am in a funk or something. Maybe it is the BIG Birthday coming in about 13 days. Hard to believe that I will soon be 54 years old. Outside okay I am 54 on the inside I am still that 20- 30 something who likes to have fun with friends.

My card is for the All Sorts Challenge 24 called Furry Friends. We are to make a card using our favorite animal. Well I don't know if a dog is my favorite, but it is the only animal stamp I own.

For this card I used Neenah classic cream card stock and some bazzil dark brown cardstock. The puppy stamp and paw print stamp are by inkadinkado, the embossing folder is a new one by Sizzix (from the build a bear collection). Ribbon is by May Arts.

Yesterday in the mail I got my new PaperTrey Ink stamp set "Holiday Button Bits" and could not wait for an opportunity to play with it.

The sketch today over at Our Creative Corner was the perfect opportunity to use the cute little gingerbread man from the set.

It is the perfect card for my mother-in-law for Christmas as we always give her a gift certificate to her favorite grocery store and the front of the card holds a GC. I used American Crafts "merriment papers" along with May Arts ribbon, BasicGrey buttons, Hero Arts crystals.

Finally

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days have just been busy and not much in a mood to make cards. For those of you that checked up on me I am fine just in some kind of a funk I think.

I found a new challenge blog called Unscripted Sketches so thought I would try it out. This is sketch 27.

For this card I used Memory Box ~ dewfrost 6x6 paper pack, a vintage image that I had in my collection, some basicgrey buttons and I did some faux stitching around the edge of the card as well as on the strip of paper going across.

All About Christmas

The guys are downstairs watching the football game so thought I would do a quick post of a new digi stamp set from The Cutting Cafe called All About Christmas. You can check it out here. This set has so many fun images and I can't wait to play with all of them.

For this card I just colored the merry christmas in with a red copic marker and then cut it out and pasted it on top of the original. I added a border of black and red to make it pop a little more, then I used my score pal to create lines through the card base and then I added a black and red may arts ribbon to complete the card.

FTL 64

It is Friday evening and thought I would post another card challenge that I did today. This one is for Clean & Simple Stamping I just love the sketches they are always so easy to reproduce and use for just about any occassion.

Shape Up

I am so loving this new set of Holiday trees by Pink Petticoat that I am once again using it on a card.

This card is for Day 230 over at 365 Cards and today's challenge is to make the dominant shape on your card a semi~circle. Well I don't know if mine is dominant but I think you can tell what it is.

I paper pieced the tree and added some matte accents to the star, distressed all the edges of the papers, added some basicgrey buttons that I threaded with some of the left over paper that I printed and then added faux stitiching around all the outside edges.

Home

I made it home safely yesterday after visiting with family up in Wahpeton, North Dakota. Poor little Micah was running a temp and not feeling up to par. He had his 6 month shots the day we left. Little man is in the 95% range for height and 75% for weight. His Dad says he is going to play football for Nebraska ~ I just nod my head and think Hockey for the UofM (University of Minnesota).

My card today is for the Paper Play Challenge ~ week 39 and the challenge is to use your favorite embellishment on your card. Well my favorite is buttons with ribbon running a close second.

I was so excited when I got home to find that Pink Petticoat had released another button tree digi stamp and papers set. I added some buttons and ribbons all papers are from the digi set. The papers in this set are amazing I know I will be using a lot of these on my Christmas cards this year.

MOJO Monday ~ More Like SNOWDAY Monday

Here is a quick card before I head out the door on this cold snowy day here in Minnesota. It is Mojo Monday Week 108 sketch and my card using the new BasicGrey "Nook & Pantry", I created the flower using a scallop punch. After punching out the flower I added some glimmer mist to give it a little bit of a green shine to it. The button is BasicGrey, the pearl is KaiserCraftand the ribbon is from my stash.

Autumn Colors

I have been going through all my drawers and drawers of ribbon and sorting by colors and came across this beautiful orange wide ribbon that I knew I wanted to use on a card and I knew immediately that I would use a dark dark brown cardstock.

Here are the two cards I created using a cuttlebug embossing folder and pumpkin emboss and cut die. The inside is basicgrey "indian summer" paper and Happy Thanksgiving from The Cutting Cafe. The more I use these wonderful digi stamps from Regina the more I like them.

Okay, this is going to be it for me tonight I need to get packed and try and work on the mini album I am doing.

SNOW

I woke up to snow on the ground yesterday and it was chilly all day long, thankfully the snow was gone by the early afternoon. Tomorrow I am heading out to Wahpeton, North Dakota with my niece Shannon and her kids to visit family. Looking at the weather reports it sounds like it is supposed to snow there today 1-2" and tomorrow 1-3". FUN NOT.

Here is a card I made for the FTL63 I love the sketches here and they are so much fun to do. Just Clean and Simple the way I like it.

For this card I used my new BasicGrey "Nook and Pantry" 6x6 pad and felt woolie (I added an orange dew drop to the flower center), the sentiment is from The Cutting Cafe Happy Thanksgiving set.

Sweet Sunday

I was going to post this card earlier this morning but was having problems with the old laptop not wanting to load fully and then when I got all that straightened out my camera decided the battery needed a little bit of a charge.

This is the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #39 and I decided to pull out my Earth Love paper, chipboard, and ribbon by Cosmo Cricket (thanks Lindsay).

It is another chilly day here in Minnesota so I plan on staying inside and working on a mini album I am making for Cassie's BFF Kalley. I have a pot roast in the oven for dinner and all is good.

Nook & Pantry Oh My

I just got home from spending the afternoon and evening with my friend Tami at Archivers for their scrap mania. First we stopped at Starbucks to get a little java to get us going. Well you know you have to shop when you first get there and while we were wandering around the Roseville store I noticed they were putting out new papers and guess what? It was the new BasicGrey "Nook and Pantry" collection. All I can say is oh my goodness. I bought a little of everything as I am going to use it to make a couple of cookbooks for the upcoming holidays.

Here are a couple pictures of my goodies.

Besides shopping I worked on a new mini album for my niece Cassie's best friend Kalley. It will be her 10th birthday in a week and I promised to make a scrapbook showing all the different things they did together this summer. I wll share pictures as soon as it is finished.

First Haircut

Well Micah got his first haircut at 6.5 months as he had some really long hair on top and it started to look like a little mohawk. These pictures are the before and after.

My sketch is from Pencil Line Sketch 155 all paper is Lil' Man by Cosmo Cricket, the letters are American Crafts Thickers, button is by BasicGrey and zigzag ribbon is from a piece I got out of my stash.

Pick Five

The challenge today over at 365 Cards is to pick 5 items to put on your card not including the cardstock. I had to restrain myself from adding a sentiment to the front and threading the buttons. (I will add a sentiment after I post the card ~ is that cheating Rose or Gloria?)

For this card I used Epic Black cardstock, 2 pieces of Jenni Bowlin patterned paper, and 3 Jenni Bowlin buttons from the same collection. I just love these chipboard buttons. For the scallop I used my Stampin' Up border punch.

Cat and the Lamp

I found another new sketch challenge blog thanks to Michelle and decided to give it a try. If you haven't done their sketches before give it a try. It is called Sketch Girl and this is sketch #6.

This card uses memory box papers and stamp. The paper is from the "Twilight" collection and the stamp is called Cat and Lamp. My friend Tami introduced me to them awhile back and I have been hooked every since. Check out Tami's blog she is the guest designer every Friday over on the Memory Box website. Hump Day

It's Wednesday and that means it is Wacky Wednesday over at Paper Popsicles. I love the sketches that they use over there and imagine my surprise today when I went over to see what the sketch was and found out I was the winner of last weeks challenge. How cool is that and I got a Gift Certificate to use in the store.

Here is this weeks sketch and my card. Since it is definitely Fall here in Minnesota decided to do a fall theme.

For this card I used my Fiskars border punch and added a little faux stitching to it. For the sentiment I used a digi stamp from The Cutting Cafe Autumn Days set, the leaves are from QuicKutz, and the cardstock is from Anchor Paper. I added some Ranger distressing ink to all the leaves and the circle sentiment to age it a little.

Just for Ewe

I found a new challenge blog called AllSorts while blurfing earlier this week and decided to give it a try. The challenge was to use Kraft cardstock and the sponsor this week is Pink Petticoat. The design team over there was using the set from Pink Petticoat called Big Fella and since I own that set thought I would play along.

Along with my kraft cardstock I used some basicgrey buttons, scrappers floss, I paper pieced the little ewe with modern milan by me&my big ideas, I colored in the legs and face with a black glaze pen and then used my white signo pen to add some eyes, I added a fiskars border punch and some faux stitching.

Halloween Memories

When I started making this frame for Cassie I realized that I didn't know what her costume would be this year so I decided to make the frame using a picture that we took of her at the pumpkin patch and I think this picture is from 2004 or 2005. Once Halloween comes this year I will take one of the pictures her Mom gives me and fit it into the frame before I give it to them.

 For this frame I used "Halloween This and That" by The Cutting Cafe which is where I got the stars and the cats, I added some BasicGrey buttons, and tied with orange and black floss, the letters are Thickers by American Crafts. I added some faux stitching with a white signo gel pen. The frame is from Michael's.
