Here is my card for this weeks challenge over at Sasya's Sketches. It is hard to believe that my 2nd term of being on this wonderful design team is now over. I have really enjoyed working with Sasya and the rest of the design team. 

The papers are by My Minds Eye from the "fine and dandy" collection. The sentiment is PTI, I added some thickers by American Crafts and some of my handmade wrinkle ribbon.

I have decided to take a little bloggie break and other than my scheduled design team post I will not be posting.



it's your day

it is cold here this morning 18 degrees so I am enjoying a nice cup of tea and enjoying the silence since the family is still sleeping.

I made this card for the challenge over at The Sweet Stop and the sketch was perfect for some masculine birthday cards I wanted to create using the new American Crafts papers "Campy Trails" that I picked up at Anchor Paper on Saturday. I just love AC's newest collections especially the fact that they have patterns on both sides now.

This last card is one of those just because ones. My niece Tammy sent me a Thank You card that was shaped like a purse and the moment I got it I knew I was going to cut it apart and make a template to recreate it.

I used Cosmo Cricket "UPcycle" paper, Spellbinders die "foilage" for the leaves, PTI flower die, and MFT rolled rose.

basic white

I have come to the realization that I only make white cards. This came about last night while Skyping with my friend Michelle. I don't know why I am afraid of doing a card in any color other than white. I will put that on the list of things to work on.

With that said let's meet today's cards.

I created this first card for the sketch challenge over at "simply less is more". I used some papers from my new Cosmo Cricket 6x6 pad "UPcycle" and new spellbinders dies that I got from Claudia and Company.

The perfect CAS card sketch.

Next up is my card for this weeks Clean and Simply Stamping challenge. Although this looks simple enough I had a heck of a time with this card and must have made it 3 times before I got the look I was going for. 

This is one of those sketches I know I will use again in the future.

If you follow my blog you probably saw the post yesterday where one of my cards was featured on their blog.

Well today I decided to use up the scraps on my desk from "little girl" collection and created these two cards.

I used this weeks sketch from Eat Sleep Stamp for the inspiration on this card. Don't you just love those little birds?

This next card is a just because I wanted to use the dress form that came with this collection of stickers by Echo Park.

catching up ~ part II

Yesterday I posted some of the layouts I had been working on and today I want to share some cards that I created this past week.

I received an order from Two Peas this week and couldn't wait to rip into my new Crate Paper 6x6 Portrait pad and Maya Road ribbons.

I created this card for Mojo Monday card sketch.

I wasn't sure if I liked the color combo at first but after looking at it for awhile I really like how it turned out. This is fast becoming my favovrite stamp.

catching up

One of my resolutions this year was to do at least one scrapbook layout a week and I am happy to report...so far/so good.

Here are a couple of layouts I did for Micah and Cassie's 12x12 books. I have several size books going at one time.

I am trying to change the way I scrapbook and do more layouts with lots of little items added to them, but so far am not able to leave the clean and simple look behind. Any tips for me on how to add lots of embellishments to a layout and still have it look not so cluttered?

For the layout of Cassie I used a sketch 144 from Creative Scrappers and on the layout of Micah I used a sketch from Pencil Lines.

I woke up this morning to find an email from my friend Amy showing me this.

new release friday

It is Friday and time for another new release over at A Day for Daisies.



I picked "happy bird house" to work with this week and must admit I had a lot of fun coloring this one. I even added some liquid pearls to some of the buds.

Papers are by Echo Park, felt is PTI and flower die is Sizzix.

I used the sketch from The Pink Elephant as the inspiration for my card. I liked this sketch so much I used it twice this week.

party animals...

This card is for the newest challenge over at The Pink Elephant and it was perfect as I needed to make a boy birthday card and the sketch fit the image I wanted to use.



Okay I need to admit that I can not remember where I bought this digital image but when I saw it I knew I had to have it, so if you know which company it is please let me know and I will post it here.

I used embossing folders by  cuddlebug and sizzix along with some washi tape that has been in my stash forever that I am starting to use more.

We are definitely having some weird weather here in Minneapolis. We had Spring last week and yesterday It was a little bit of everything. It started off by raining most of the day, then the rain turned to sleet and last night it turned to snow. Well it is still snowing out and when it is finally over we are supposed to have 10 inches. 

I am so tired of snow!!! 

So as long as I am in the house I decided to make a card to share with you.

 

This card uses up the end of my Echo Park "life is good" papers that I bought. I love the richness of the colors in this collection.

I used the sketch over at Techno Stamper as the inspiration for this card.

My card this week uses papers by Memory Box from the "minuet" collection, the stamp and sentiment are by Unity and I added some liquid pearls.

Spring??

We had warmer weather last week when it was still winter and now our temps are going back down into the teens and 30's with some snow expected this week.

I have a couple cards to share with you today.

This first card is for this weeks challenge over at The Sweet Stop I love their sketches.

I decided it was time to use the Echo Park papers (life is good) that have been sitting on my desk for about a month now.

Next up is my card for this weeks sketch challenge over at CPS and I used some more of the Echo Park papers that were sitting on my desk and these are from the "little girl" collection.

3rd post today

As I said in my last post I have quite a few cards to share with you so you might get a little tired of seeing me in your google reader.

This is a new image by Lori Boyd called "Ella with Umbrella" and she can be found here. I thought she would be perfect for Mandy's newest challenge over at LimeLight Paper Crafts which was not only a sketch this week but the challenge was to use green. Since I adore green I thought it would be easy.

I am also entering this into the challenge over at Ribbon Girl Challenges as the challenge this week was to use green and yellow on your card.

My next card is for Karen Girons newest Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. This was a fun sketch and I pulled out my BasicGrey "hello luscious" paper and chipboards once again along with some of my handmade wrinkle ribbon.

masculine

This is my 2nd post today.

I have been busy making cards so figured if I was going to show them to you before the challenges were over I best get busy posting them.

The new challenge over at "Simply Less is More" is Masculine this week. Those are always the hardest cards for me to make so I tend to make them pretty clean and simple.

I wasn't 100% in love with my first card so I decided to do another one based on the same idea. I think I like this one better.

What is the hardest kind of card for you to make? Is it masculine ones like me or something else?

While I was blurfing the other day I ran across the cutest digital images and just had to make a couple of them mine. I got them at Zlatoena Designs etsy store.

My first card is for the newest sketch over at Card Patterns. I am normally not a fan of purple but I think in this case it works.

Isn't that bunny just adorable? Here is the sketch that inspired me.

My next card was created using the other image that I purchased at her etsy shop and I used the newest sketch WMSC39 to inspire my card.

I had so much fun coloring this image and then adding some white enamel accents to the cake. After I finished coloring the image I realized I should have made it a little smaller so the bunny ears didn't have to be behind the banner.

 I will be back tomorrow with a few more cards to share with you. Since it is raining here today I have been watching movies and making cards, lots of cards.

happy holidays...thinking of you

I decided to jump on the band wagon and do one of the sketches over at jingle belles. Now that our snow is finally melting I can make a few Holiday cards without feeling like I am jinxing the weather here in Minnesota.

This card went together rather quickly since I keep all my Holiday papers and embellishments in two large plastic containers (one for papers and alphas and the other for embellishments).

I can't decide if I like my next card or not. I created it for this weeks sketch over at Clean and Simple Stamping.

I stamped the Hero Arts flower three times and then added stickles to give it a little bit of a pop on the card. papers are BasicGrey "hello luscious" and sentiment is PTI.

So what are your plans for today? I don't have anything planned today so will just wait and see how the day progresses.

movies and cards

I spent last night watching movies and making cards and wanted to share a couple of them with you today.

This first card was created for a new challenge I found called cards & things challenges. I liked the sketch and had my card planned as soon as I saw it.

I used the Hero Arts "large blossom" cling stamp along with ranger distress inks, glossy accents, proterra kraft cardstock, a PTI sentiment and SU border punch.

Here is the sketch that inspired my card.

My next card was created using this weeks sketch from Get Sketchy and the leftover scraps of paper on my desk. Papers are by Little Yellow Bicycle from the "Twig" collection. I also used my new Tim Holtz rosette die, SU leafy branch die, American Crafts thickers and PTI sentiment.

And this is the sketch that I got my inspiration from.

So do you have any plans for the weekend? My plans are to just hang out at home, catch up on some stuff around the house (like floors and toilets) and then play in my craftroom some more.

happy birthday...the good life

I think I wore Micah out on his birthday with all the playing outside and fresh air that we got. I needed a nap too once I got home.

It is a beautiful day here in Minnesota and I have a couple cards to share with you.

This card was created using some new jillibean soup papers and embellishments I picked up this past week along with my new stamp set from PTI called "tag-its #1".

I created this card using this weeks sketch over at Inkspiration Challenges. This is my first time doing one of the challenges here and I am sure it won't be my last.

Next up I have a card that I did for this weeks challenge over at There She Goes and I used papers and embellishments by October Afternoon from the "thriftshop" collection.
