Online Card Class ~ Watercolor Day 3

I have been waiting for my stamp I ordered so I can do Day 3 of class using the marker technique that Kristina showed us. While going through my Feedly yesterday I found a video by Dawn at WPlus9 showing a similar technique.

And it was perfect for Day 3 of class.

The homework was to color directly on your stamps with markers and then paint with water after you stamped it.

This is my first attempt at this technique so I still have a ways to go, but I am happy with it.

Here is the finished card.

I used the WPlus9 Fresh Cut Floral stamp set and the cup and sentiment are by Paper Smooches.

You Are Unique - MM94

The challenge this week at Merry Monday was to use a Stocking or Stockings on your Christmas card.

Okay, I had this great pair of socks by Unity which I knew would work but wasn't sure if I had a sentiment to go with it.

I found this 'you are unique' in a Paper Smooches Swanky Snowdudes set I had along with a Seasons Greetings which I put on the inside of the card.

I think it will work for Christmas.

I will send it to my brother, he will appreciate the humor.

OCC - Stenciled Day Two

Yesterday was day two of my online card class called Stenciled and this is what I created.

I will be honest with you this was not my first card, it wasn't even my 3rd card. It was the 4th one that I made that I didn't get ink somewhere it shouldn't be or just a card I didn't like.

I am happy with how this one turned out and can't wait to try a few more of the lessons from class.

OCC ~ Stenciled Day One

I am taking my first online class at Online Card Classes and just finished my first card.

I used my Memory Box 'honey comb' stencil along with some Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers and Antique Linen. I used PTI Tag Sale #5 and the sentiment is by Paper Smooches.

Are you taking the class? If so let me know what you think of it.

happy birthday ~

As I write this blog post it is a beautiful day here in Minnesota with a balmy temp of 34 degrees.

I love the deconstructed sketch this week and just had to play along.

Here is my take on the sketch using papers by Carta Bella from the 'rough and tumble' collection.

I am also entering this into the Paper Smooches 'anything goes' challenge and the Sentimental Sunday challenge #190 to use more than 3 layers.

happy birthday

(this is my 2nd post of the day, please scroll down for my post for The Pink Elephant Scrapbook Challenge)

It is a new month and with that comes a new card kit over at Artful Delight. If you haven't seen the March card kit let me show it to you.

Besides all the wonderful papers and embellishments you see here it also comes with a stamp set by Paper Smooches called "birthday sampler".

Since it is also a new month we have a new sketch for you to play with. I love the sketch, especially that big fishtail banner.

Here is my card using this months sketch. I created that flower using some of the flower diecuts from the kit and then I took one of the buttons from the kit and added one of the Teresa Collins enamel dots and added it on top. Love that you get a full set of those enamel dots as they are my latest addiction.

I will be back next Saturday with a new card using more of the goodies from this months kit.

holiday cheer ~ mm #47

We have a new challenge here at Merry Monday that we will be doing every month and it is called Tic~Tac~Toe.

Pick three elements either up or down or across or diagonal and create a card using just those three items.

For my card I went straight across the middle.

Clean and Simple (check)
Color with Markers (check)
White (check)

What three items will you choose for your card? Can't wait to see.

Don't forget to stop over at the Merry Monday blog and see what the rest of the design team came up with.

thoughts of you ~ fms70

A quick card for you today that I created for this weeks sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches.

I am trying to use up a some of my older stuff and this card uses one of my oldest BasicGrey collections 'stella ruby'. It is probably one of my all time favorite collections as well.

The butterfly is from the Crate Paper 'random' collection and the sentiment is Paper Smooches.

hello honey

I am so excited to share with you the January Card Kit over at Artful Delight. I absolutely love everything that is included and was really excited to see that cute Paper Smooches stamp in there this month.

Since it is the start of a new month that means we also have a new sketch challenge for you and I created my card using the sketch, cardstock and stamp set from the kit, as well as using my Copic Markers and Glossy Accents from my stash.

Aren't those little bees just too cute?

Here is the sketch for January. I sure hope you will take some time and play along with me and the other card designer team members.

your're brrr-fect

It's my turn over at the Artful Delight blog to post a card using the December Card Kit.

Everything on my card is from the kit. Don't you just love that little penguin image?

I used the Paper Smooches Sparks December Draft challenge as the inspiration for this card.

silver and gold PP122

(this is my second post today, scroll down to see the other one)

A couple of quick cards for you today that I created for this weeks challenge over at the Paper Players, this week the challenge is to make a project using silver or gold.

This first card was really easy to put together (my favorite kind). I used a big silver glitter star that I picked up at Target in the Christmas ornament aisle. I added a 'winter wishes' flair badge and put it all on top of a piece of solar white linen paper that I embossed with snowflakes.

This next card took a couple more minutes to make. I used a Maya Road chipboard snowflake that I painted with Adirondack Metallics paint dabber. I added some Stampendous 'shaved ice' to the snowflake while it was still wet. The sentiment is Paper Smooches. After all that I felt it needed just a little bit more so I used the same embossing folder and a couple of gold dew drops from my stash. I layered the embossed piece with some gold stardreams paper.

Since I love how these cards turned out I might have to make a few more for the holidays.

you rock

A quick card to share with you this morning before I head out to spend the day with my niece Shannon to celebrate her birthday.

I know I have said this before but I just love Paper Smooches stamps so had to play along with the newest Designer Draft sketch challenge.

Hope you have a great day and I will be back tomorrow with a card using the newest release over at A Day for Daisies.

be jolly

Don't you just love it when the minute you see a sketch you know exactly what you are going to do with it?

Such was the case when I saw this weeks sketch over at Skipping Stones Design.

The ornament and holly on my card are dies from PaperTrey Inc., as is the red and green inks, the papers are by doodlebug designs from the "north pole" collection, sentiment stamps are by Paper Smooches.

frames PP118

It is a grey and rainy morning here in Minnesota so perfect weather for sitting in your jammies and working on a few projects.

I have to say that I had more fun creating this card than I have in a long time. I used a QuicKutz embossing folder along with a new Paper Smooches stamp set "Christmas Sampler" and two wooden embellishments by Studio Calico.

I painted the frame and the tree with some paint daubers and then added a star to the tree and some enamel accents to the frame. I outlined them both with a gold paint pen.

I am entering this card into this weeks challenge over at the Paper Players.

happy

A quick card to share with you before I head out of the house to enjoy this beautiful fall day here in Minnesota.

I created this card for this weeks sketch challenge over at Retro Sketches

As soon as I saw the sketch I knew I had to use my favorite Hero Arts stamp along with the new SN@P collection of papers by Simple Stories. Archivers had an exclusive SN@P 6x6 paper pad if you spent $30 so I had to get it.

congrats

I was in a card making mood today and since I needed one more baby card I decided to search for a sketch that I loved and make one.

I used this weeks sketch over at Sweet Stamp Shop. I love anything with banners so when I saw this one I knew it was perfect.

I still had my new Paper Smooches stamp set on my desk and the Crate Paper 6x6 pad from the card I made yesterday. So I was halfway there already.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.
