Birthday Wishes ~ Art Impressions Gazebo

Thursday that means that I am up on the Art Impressions blog today!

Today I am sharing a card that I created using one of the  'Try'Fold stamp sets.

I used the Gazebo set, my distress markers and a paintbrush.

I colored the distress marker on my acrylic block and then lifted the color off with a wet paintbrush. More water on your brush gives you a lighter color so if you want a dark color just use less water.

Here is the card once I removed the twine that is tied around it.

And finally here is the card once it is totally opened up.

This was my second attempt at making one of the 'Try'Folds and I have to admit I was scared at first but the instructions that come with the stamp set worked out perfectly. When you follow the directions. More on that in my 2nd post today.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

with sympathy

So are you like me and do you have stamps in your collections that you haven't even inked up yet?

I have so many that I have decided to start inking them up and using them.

Let me introduce to you PTI ~ Life is Beautiful along with PTI - Keep it Simple ~ Sympathy. Two sets that I recently purchased along with a matching die.

I stamped the butterflies with PTI inks and then added some watercolor using my distress markers. I then cut out of the butterfly dies using vellum and sewed it on to give it a little more texture.

Now I can say that I have used the stamps and dies and can file this set away.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

Online Card Class ~ Watercolor Day 3

I have been waiting for my stamp I ordered so I can do Day 3 of class using the marker technique that Kristina showed us. While going through my Feedly yesterday I found a video by Dawn at WPlus9 showing a similar technique.

And it was perfect for Day 3 of class.

The homework was to color directly on your stamps with markers and then paint with water after you stamped it.

This is my first attempt at this technique so I still have a ways to go, but I am happy with it.

Here is the finished card.

I used the WPlus9 Fresh Cut Floral stamp set and the cup and sentiment are by Paper Smooches.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.
