Hello ~ SSS Card Kit

I finally did it!

I always wanted to try the monthly card kit at Simon Says Stamp and I finally joined.

I made this card this morning using the February card kit along with a few of my own supplies including that awesome Mosaic Heart stencil which is a SSS exclusive.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me. ~ hugs Sherry ~

OCC - Stenciled Day Two

Yesterday was day two of my online card class called Stenciled and this is what I created.

I will be honest with you this was not my first card, it wasn't even my 3rd card. It was the 4th one that I made that I didn't get ink somewhere it shouldn't be or just a card I didn't like.

I am happy with how this one turned out and can't wait to try a few more of the lessons from class.

OCC ~ Stenciled Day One

I am taking my first online class at Online Card Classes and just finished my first card.

I used my Memory Box 'honey comb' stencil along with some Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers and Antique Linen. I used PTI Tag Sale #5 and the sentiment is by Paper Smooches.

Are you taking the class? If so let me know what you think of it.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

ADFD August Kit Club and Blog Hop

I can't believe it is August already and time for a new Kit Club release and blog hop over at A Day for Daisies.

You should have arrived here from Kadie's blog. The design team is show casing all the wonderful images from the "sketchpad" collection. Make sure and leave a comment on all the blogs on the hop as well as at the ADFD blog for a chance to win this entire collection of images.

I got to play with "love birds" this week.

I had so much fun creating my card this week. I used Hero Arts 'large lotus' stencil along with PTI newspaper print stamp background. I added a couple of layers to the flowers to make them pop on the card along with some of my hand-dyed ribbon.

Your next stop on this blog hop is Mila's blog. If you get lost along the way please go to the ADFD blog for a full list of design team members.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

eye SEE you!

Well I thought I read the challenge correctly, but now as I type up my blog post I see that I totally got it wrong.

CFC41:  Jest for the Pun of it.
Use a pun, or a sentiment in a silly way to create a joke, on your
Clean And Simple creation.

I probably should have used something that said "Eye SEE You!" instead of what I used. But I am too lazy to go back and change the sentiment and re-shoot a photo of my card.

I think I will be a rebel and post my card on the challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays anyway.

Thanks for stopping by to look.

celebrate this life - PP83

I have a quick card to share with you that I am making for the Paper Players challenge.

I always have a tough time creating masculine cards so I tend to use pine trees a lot on them. Maybe because most of the guys in my life love going up to Northern Minnesota on vacation and we have lots of pine trees in the area that we go to.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card.

winter wishes

It is a beautiful day here in Minnesota and I was in the mood to make a Christmas card this morning.

I pulled out a stamp that my friend Amy had sent me last year along with a Penny Black stamp and some Memory Box papers and Distress inks.

I like how it turned out so will be making a few more to add to my Christmas card pile for this year.

Thanks for stopping by to look and make sure to stop by tomorrow for some new releases over at ADFD.

friendship

Have you checked out the challenge this week over at Less is More? It is called "pick a square".

I saw Chrissie's card and knew immediately I wanted to use some of my Hero Arts flower stamps.

I used my Distress inks on the stamps and then I used a sentiment from PTI "wildflower garden".

Here is the sketch showing the 5 different squares that you could pick from.

So any plans for today? I am hoping it doesn't rain as I need to get out in the yard and pull some weeds, lots of weeds.

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy!
