The Paper Players PP423

I am back today with another card and since I had the doilies and enamel dots on my desk already I decided to use them again before putting away.

The challenge over at The Paper Players is to use any type of animal on your card. This animal can be a bird, a bear or even a butterfly. I went with the butterfly since I happen to have a stash of these paper ones cut out from my favorite Recollections papers.

I used Graphic Grid paper by My Favorite Things along with a stamp set by Taylored Expressions.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

Just a quick card to share with you that I created using this weeks sketch over at The Paper Players, using the new Amy Tangerine 'yes, please' collection along with some alpha stickers by Pebbles.

This has to be one of my favorite Amy Tangerine collections so far. What is your favorite paper collection right now?

death leaves a heartache

This week over at The Paper Players they want us to make a Sympathy card.

I think sympathy cards along with masculine cards are the hardest ones to make. Usually when I need a sympathy card I use a butterfly and my favorite sentiment stamp along with a butterfly image.

I really love this sentiment and think it goes perfectly with a nice butterfly image. I am always looking for butterfly paper that I can just cut out the butterflies and have them on hand. This one is from an SEI paper that I found about 4 months ago.

I am not sure who the stamp is by as a pen pal of mine sent it to me years ago and the packaging didn't have a name on it. The set has about 9 different sentiments and all of them are perfect for Sympathy cards.

be mine

One more card to share with you today and this one was created for the Friday Mashup which was to use the sketch and hearts as well as this weeks Paper Players theme challenge "love is in the air".

For my card I used papers and embellishments from the Crate Paper 'fourteen' collection.

I used this sketch.

And this theme challenge.

snowflakes - part iv

Oh, yes another snowflake card from me.

Being from Minnesota I love snowflakes, but hate snow. lol

I am entering this card into the following challenges.

I used the sketch from CAS(E) this sketch!

The strings on the snowflakes were inspired by the challenge over at CAS-UAL Fridays which was to use your scorepal and create some lines.

And finally I am linking it up to The Paper Players challenge which is to use snowflakes.

snowflakes - part II

I bought a couple of new Sizzix embossing folders that are just big snowflakes and have had a couple of them embossed sitting on my desk waiting for just the right challenge to use them on.

Well today is the day I get to use one. This weeks challenge over at the Paper Players was the perfect one.

This card came together in less than two minutes. I added some Prima 'say it with crystals' and adhered it to a card base and it was done.

You will see me enter this challenge at least two more times this week since every challenge I see lately has snowflakes or what could be snowflakes in the sketch.

snowflakes

A quick card to share that I made really early this morning which explains why the photo is so dark.

I created this card using the sketch over at Unscripted Sketches as well as this weeks challenge at The Paper Players.

This sketch worked perfect for my kraft and white snowflake and I lucked out with the challenge at the Paper Players being snowflakes.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

silver and gold PP122

(this is my second post today, scroll down to see the other one)

A couple of quick cards for you today that I created for this weeks challenge over at the Paper Players, this week the challenge is to make a project using silver or gold.

This first card was really easy to put together (my favorite kind). I used a big silver glitter star that I picked up at Target in the Christmas ornament aisle. I added a 'winter wishes' flair badge and put it all on top of a piece of solar white linen paper that I embossed with snowflakes.

This next card took a couple more minutes to make. I used a Maya Road chipboard snowflake that I painted with Adirondack Metallics paint dabber. I added some Stampendous 'shaved ice' to the snowflake while it was still wet. The sentiment is Paper Smooches. After all that I felt it needed just a little bit more so I used the same embossing folder and a couple of gold dew drops from my stash. I layered the embossed piece with some gold stardreams paper.

Since I love how these cards turned out I might have to make a few more for the holidays.

Thankful - PP120

On my quest to use all of my un-inked stamps in the coming year, I have also added "dies" to the list. I LOVE dies and have too many to count so am going to start using them more as well.

On this card I have used dies by PTI and Memory Box. The papers are a recent purchase that I picked up at Stamp Your Life called 'Lucille' by BasicGrey. I just love the colors in this collection. They remind me of my Grandma's house.

I am entering this card in the Paper Players theme challenge this week which is "Give Thanks".

frames PP118

It is a grey and rainy morning here in Minnesota so perfect weather for sitting in your jammies and working on a few projects.

I have to say that I had more fun creating this card than I have in a long time. I used a QuicKutz embossing folder along with a new Paper Smooches stamp set "Christmas Sampler" and two wooden embellishments by Studio Calico.

I painted the frame and the tree with some paint daubers and then added a star to the tree and some enamel accents to the frame. I outlined them both with a gold paint pen.

I am entering this card into this weeks challenge over at the Paper Players.

i like you a latte

I created this card for the challenge over at The Paper Players this week.

I used a stamp from a set I have had in my stash awhile now and created this simple 4" square card.

I cut and colored 3 of the cup images and then stacked them on top of each other using foam tape in between the layers.

happy - PP113

A quick card to share with you today that I created using the newest challenge over at the paper players.

For being a clean and simple challenge it sure took me a long time to make. I think this is the third one I made and finally decided this one was okay to submit.

I used papers and alpha stickers from the October Afternoon "cake walk" collection, the little enamel dots are by My Minds Eye. I have had this collection for about 4 months and just took my first cut into it.

Thanks for stopping by to visit.

happy halloween

I have been in a mood to make Halloween cards the past couple days and wish that we were having some nice fall weather to go along with that.

I created this card for this weeks challenge over at the Paper Players. I used papers and twine from the doodlebug designs collection "haunted manor", the ghost image is from "tremendous treats: halloween" by PTI. The sentiment is by Technique Tuesday from "halloween circles".

Here is this weeks sketch over at the Paper Players.

I love making Halloween cards so be watching my blog for more in the very near future.

Thanks for stopping by to look.

hello

A quick card for you today that I created for this weeks challenge over at The Paper Players.

I love paper piecing so had to play along and it was the perfect opportunity to use one of my new Paper Smooches stamps that I picked up.

I paper pieced all the elements of the stamped image and then colored in the cats eyes and added some googly eyes to the rabbit. The sentiment was created using mini stickers by doodlebug designs. Papers are from the exclusive BasicGrey for JoAnn's collection called Serendipity.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my little creation.

celebrating your birthday

I needed a birthday card for my son Justin's best friend Ernie who is coming over today for his weekly Sunday visit.

I used papers from the Echo Park "take note" collection, along with a sentiment stamp by PTI and Prima "say it with crystals". I got the idea of adding the little fish tail banners on the side from LeAnne who was in charge of this weeks challenge over at The Paper Players.

Thanks for stopping by to look and as always your comments are welcome. I am hoping to get a few more cards done today before company arrives and before it gets too hot in my upstairs no air conditioning craft room.

dad

The Paper Players are celebrating their 100th challenge this week and this weeks challenge is to use any previous sketch and create a card.

As soon as I saw the challenge I was off to look at the blog and to take a look at all the past sketches. I chose to work with sketch #69.

I used some new My Minds Eye 6x6 pads that I picked up on Friday at HomeGoods. I had never been to that store before but when I found out they had 6x6 paper pads for $2.99 well I just had to go check it out. I picked up 7 new MME pads that I had not seen before.

Here is the sketch that inspired my card.

So are you going to play this week? What sketch will you pick?

Thanks for stopping by.
