Jingle Belles Challege - Tis the Season

I'm back I really am going to try and be more present on my blog this year. So lets start off with a card that I made for the current challenge over at Jingle Belles.

The theme for this challenge is "No time like the Present" and they wanted us to use some of our Christmas wrapping paper.

It was a pretty simple card once I remembered how to make a card as it has been so long. I used some ancient snowman wrapping paper, a doily from my stash and a sentiment from a PaperTrey Ink stamp set. I tossed on a few enamel dots and called this card done.

I have missed card making, especially when I went to mail out my Christmas cards and they were all store bought again this year.

If you are still reading my blog would love to hear from you and want to say thanks for not giving up on me. It's been a rough couple of years here.

happy birthday ~ watercolor

I recently purchased some of the Art Impressions watercolor sets and yesterday I finally sat down and played with them.

I used Watercolor containers, flowers and foilage sets along with my Tim Holtz distress inks.

Not too bad for the first time playing with the stamps  don't think but definitely need to tweak it some.

Well that is it for me today, I will be back tomorrow to share another card using one of my neglected stamp sets.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

Online Card Class ~ Watercolor ~ Day 6

This class is going by quickly and I have a card to share with you from Day 6.

I used a couple of new stamp sets that I bought recently by PaperTrey Ink and Avery Elle.

You can't see it real well but the card is full of shimmer. In this lesson we learned how to watercolor with distress markers and liquid shimmer.

I loved this technique and will definitely be trying it again.

OCC - Stenciled Day 3

Hope I am not boring you with my cards from my card class but I am loving this class.

Today we played with molding paste.

Here is my first card.

Digging through all my stamps I realized I don't have any small skinny wording stamps. Was hoping I would find a happy birthday but settled for this stamp from the WPlus9 Fresh Cut Florals set.

So I wasn't that crazy about all the green on the card. I need to learn to control the spray so decided to create one more without the spray. I also die cut the leaves out of vellum without stamping and embossing them like on the first card.

So which one do you prefer?

Time for a new sketch over at Seize the Sketch

Not only do we have a new sketch but we also have a new sponsor.  This sketch is brought to you by Jen and we are being sponsored by My Favorite Things.

birthday wishes

A quick card to share this morning that I created for this weeks challenge over at "less is more".

This week they want to see "coloured card blanks" no white, no natural, no kraft and no black card fronts. Well for me that is a challenge. The second part is we have to do a one layer card and I am so not good at that.

For my card I used my new stamp set that my son got me for Mothers Day along with some Tim Holtz stickers and my trusty water color paints that I use on my scrapbook layouts.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

Friends 'til the end ~ stb14

Okay, I have to admit I cheated a little bit on getting this card done. While going through my google reader last week I saw someone accidentally posted this weeks sketch for Seize the Birthday and I kind of saved it and made my card early.

As soon as I saw that sketch I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I am also entering this card into the Addicted to CAS challenge this week as the code word is friend.

I decided to keep the base of my card pretty simple and use my favorite color 'white' and just add some score lines with my scor-buddy. The die cut, the flower and the sentiment are all by PaperTrey Ink. I thought the enamel dots would be a nice touch for the sentiment. What do you think?

happy birthday to you

I love a good digital image and find it really hard to resist a super cute robot image.

I bought this adorable image from the birdie brown etsy shop and then noticed on her blog she was having a birthday challenge so decided to enter this card into that as well.

If you are looking for my Scribbles Designs post please go here.

We are celebrating TPE's 4th birthday by having a blog hop with both the card making and the scrapbooking design teams. This week I got to create a card using Ella the Pink Elephant instead of my usual scrapbook layout.

You should have arrived here from Kadie's blog. If not you are going to want to go back to The Pink Elephant blog and start here.

The hop is really easy and all you need to do is comment on each stop so you have a chance to win one of our fabulous prizes by Sunday (2/17) at midnight. All prizes are listed on TPE blog and winners will be announced on the TPE blog on Tuesday (2/19). Makes me wish I were eligible as we have some great prizes included something from me.

Okay now you are headed over to Susie's blog and if you get lost along the way you can always head back to the TPE blog here.

Seize the Birthday

I was all set to post my card for this weeks challenge at Seize the Birthday and even had it done a week in advance as I knew that Lesley would have us use same sketch as last week only this week we would do a masculine take on it.

Well I had the card done, the post done and scheduled to go live when the day came.

Yesterday, I got an email from Lesley asking me to be the guest designer this week. Of course I said YES.

That meant making a new card using one of Lori's wonderful images as she is the sponsor this month at Seize the Birthday. Since I used to be on Lori's design team I had no problem finding the perfect image to use. (don't tell anyone I think I have almost all of her images)

So here is my card. Isn't he a cute little digi? Papers are by My Minds Eye from Lost and Found 3 and that polaroid frame is by Papertrey Ink.

Here is the sketch.

And just so my original card doesn't go unseen here it is.

I used a new stamp by Whipper Snapper that I picked up about 6 months ago but never used. The polaroid frame is by PTI, papers are by MME from the Lime Twist collection, wood stars are by Studio Calico and the sentiment is by KaiserCraft, the alpha stickers are from my stash.

I hope you will stop over at the Seize the Birthday blog and see what the design team created with the sketch this week. Tell them I sent you, I am trying to get brownie points so I can apply for the next design team call, but don't tell Lesley.

be jolly

Now that we have all put Christmas 2012 behind us it is time to start working on those holiday cards for Christmas 2013.

Time for our first challenge of the new year over at Merry Monday and this week we have a color challenge for you.

I chose to use this sweet image from Bugaboo stamps called 'old snow star', along with my favorite snowflake embossing folder and an ornament die from PaperTrey Ink.

I hope you will find time to join us this week in our first challenge of the new year.

I have a card to share with you today that uses the limited edition PTI stamp set called 'funky florals'. I just love the sentiment that is included with this set.

thanks

I spent part of this morning making some Thank You cards to send out to a few people to thank them for Christmas gifts our family received.

I thought this weeks sketch over at CAS ~ Colours & Sketches was just perfect for the layout for my cards.

I pulled out my 6x6 We R Memory Keepers 'winter frost' collection along with my Martha Stewart Snowflake punch and some My Minds Eye 'enamel dots' and a stamp by PTI from the new Embroidered Blooms set.

Now I can cross something off of my very large and ever growing to do list.

happy winter

A quick card to share today that I created for a new challenge blog I discovered called Paper Craft Crew.

I saw this sketch and loved the it so knew I had to play along even though my card won't count in the challenge since you have to use two Stampin' Up supplies to qualify.

be mine

Oh yes, this is a valentine's day card that you are seeing on my blog. I decided since tomorrow is Christmas Eve I would take a little break from the Christmas cards for a day or two.

I used a new paper collection that I got by Crate Paper called 'fourteen', the ribbon, button and twine are from my stash. The hearts are from a new die by PTI from the framed out 11 stamp and die set.

I used this weeks newest sketch from retro sketches as the inspiration on my card. I just love the fun sketches they come up with each week.

winter wishes

A quick card to share that I made for this weeks sketch challenge over at Freshly Made.

For this card I used papers by We R Memory Keepers from the 'winter frost' collection along with my favorite snowflake die by Cuttlebug and although you can't see it I used my new PTI 'linen and canvas' texture plate.

I woke up early this morning and decided to finally make a fun craft for my kitchen. It smells delish, but my fingers are really sore from pushing the cloves into the orange, so have taken a little break to post this and will finish it up in a little bit.

Celebrate the Season - MM #41

I still can't believe that I am on the Merry Monday Design Team. I love making Christmas cards more than any kind of card so this was the perfect fit for me.

I created this card using some new papers by Studio Calico from the Wonderland collection, the sentiment and buttons are by PaperTrey Ink and the snowflake punch is by Martha Stewart.

Here is our sketch for this week.

I hope you play along with us this week as I can't wait to see what you created. You will find the sketch along with all the other samples by the design team here.

So grateful for YOU.

As I stated a few days ago I am doing an early New Years resolution which is to make a dent in my un-inked stamps and dies.

My card today uses a PTI die and stamp set called Lovely Layers.

I also used papers by BasicGrey from the 'Lucille' collection. I picked mine up at Stamp Your Life.

I used this weeks sketch over at Freshly Made for the inspiration on my cards layout.

So do you have anything fun planned for this weekend? I plan on watching some chick flicks and working in the craftroom.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.
