Let's be Merry ~ STS5

(this is my 2nd post of the day, please scroll down for my BLD Inspiration Tuesday post)

I can't believe it is time for a new sketch over at Seize the Sketch and this week our sketch is brought to us by no other than my blog buddy Amy.

For this challenge we are being sponsored by Timeless Twine who is offering 3 spools of twine to the winner of STS5.

As soon as I saw this sketch I fell in love with the simplicity of it and knew that I was going to keep my card that way too.

I used papers and layered stickers by My Minds Eye from the 'mistletoe magic' collection and the sentiments is by Ali Edwards from the 'jingle all the way' set.

I hope you will stop by the blog and check out what my fellow design team members have created with this great sketch.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

Happy Birthday Friends

Today is my friend Amy's and Lesley's birthday. So I made a card to wish them both a  happy birthday.

For my card I used some Solar White cardstock by Neenah and added some lines with my Score Buddy to create the background. I then stamped the Memory Box Happy Birthday Bkgd stamp with versamark and added white zing embossing powder. The flowers and leaves are also by Memory Box from the Fabulous Phlox die.

I hope you will stop over and wish them a Happy Birthday. Tell them Sherry sent you.

I am also entering this card into the birthday card challenge at the Moxie Fab World.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

STB19 - ADFD Sponsor

Fun news to share with you all. A couple weeks ago Lesley over at Seize the Birthday asked me if I would like to be a sub for her design team and of course I said yes.

This week Seize the Birthday has a new sketch, and our sponsor is Tammy over at A Day for Daisies.

Here is a look at the sketch we are using.

For my card I used one of this months Kit Club release images called 'soft hen', papers are by My Minds Eye and the alpha stickers are by Tim Holtz.

Seize the Birthday 18

(this is my 2nd post of the day if you are looking for my Project Life layout please scroll down)

I am so excited as Lesley at Seize the Birthday has asked me to be the guest designer the current challenge which starts today and goes for the next two weeks.

Here is the sketch. All you need to do is create either a masculine or a feminine card and link it up over at Seize the Birthday. Since the challenge goes for two weeks you can even do one this week and one next week.

I love making birthday cards and this was the perfect opportunity to use some paper that has been sitting on my desk for awhile now. I even dusted off my Spellbinders Nestability stars for this card.

I hope you will grab your supplies and play along with me and the rest of the design team.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

happy birthday

This week at Seize the Birthday we are using the same sketch as last week only this time around we are making a masculine birthday card.

I always create both of my cards at the same time so then I keep ahead of the game.

I used papers by Fancy Pants from the 'swagger collection' and added some score lines with my scor-buddy and then I  colored that cute little dog image and applied a couple pop dots and then added some glossy accents to the time.

Quick and simple my favorite kind of card to create.

Friends 'til the end ~ stb14

Okay, I have to admit I cheated a little bit on getting this card done. While going through my google reader last week I saw someone accidentally posted this weeks sketch for Seize the Birthday and I kind of saved it and made my card early.

As soon as I saw that sketch I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I am also entering this card into the Addicted to CAS challenge this week as the code word is friend.

I decided to keep the base of my card pretty simple and use my favorite color 'white' and just add some score lines with my scor-buddy. The die cut, the flower and the sentiment are all by PaperTrey Ink. I thought the enamel dots would be a nice touch for the sentiment. What do you think?

Celebrate "man of the hour" - STB13

This week at 'Seize the Birthday' they are using the same sketch as last week but want to see Masculine cards. I always create both of my cards when the new sketch comes out.

Along with the sketch I used papers and embellishments by Fancy Pants from the "swagger" collection.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

hello birthday girl STB12

I made this card a couple days ago while skyping with my friend Michelle for the current sketch over at Seize the Birthday. This week they are looking for feminine birthday cards.

Along with the sketch I used papers and embellishments by Crate Paper from the 'DIY Shop' collection. The sentiment is from a Pure Innocence stamp set called 'my balloon'.

Here is a look at this weeks sketch.

My masculine card for next week that uses this same sketch is done and just waiting for next Thursday to post it.

lucky me

A quick card to share with you that I created before I got sick with some kind of cold/crud that is going around.

This is my second card using this weeks sketch challenge over at Seize the Birthday.

It is a great sketch and I see myself using it more in the future.

happy day ~ STB#9

Yesterday, a new sketch as put up for the newest challenge over at Seize the Birthday and of  course I had to play along.

This week we are creating a feminine birthday card following the above sketch. I used papers by Crate Paper by Maggie Holmes and my favorite Pure Innocence stamp.

Next week it will be the same sketch but a masculine twist to it and my card is done and ready to go. I would show it to you now, but that isn't how we play at Seize the Birthday.

Today is all about - STB #8

This week at Seize the Birthday we are using the same sketch as last week only this week they want to see masculine cards.

I used Echo Park papers and layered stickers from the all about a boy collection. The sentiment is by PaperTrey Ink.

Here is the sketch.

I love the idea behind Seize the Birthday. We get to create Birthday cards for our stash and every other week we get a new sketch. If you are like me you will create both the feminine and the masculine card at the same time.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

happy day - STB #7

Another quick card to share with you today for this weeks challenge over at Seize the Birthday

This weeks challenge is of course birthday, but it is a new sketch so that means create a card for a feminine birthday.

I used papers by Amy Tangerine from the 'yes, please' collection along with some Amy Tan remarks stickers and a button and twine from my stash.

Here is this weeks fabulous sketch.

Lesley, is amazing! Every week she comes up with a sketch that I love. I keep telling her my goal is now to be on the Seize the Birthday design team. *wink*
Not sure if she is taking me serious so I will just have to keep playing and letting her know.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

Happy Birthday - STB#6

This week at Seize the Birthday the theme is Masculine and it gave me a chance to use a new Art Impression stamp. I just love their fun, humorous stamps.

Here is the great sketch we are using again this week.

HB2U

A card to share with you today that I created for this weeks sketch challenge over at Seize the Birthday.

I used papers, letter stickers and embellishments from the new Amy Tangerine 'yes, please'. Along with some of my handmade ribbon.

As I have said before what I love about this challenge is besides getting a great stock of Birthday cards made I can also get next weeks card done too as they use the same sketch and just switch from a feminine theme to a masculine theme. So my card for next week is done as well.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

Seize the Birthday

I was all set to post my card for this weeks challenge at Seize the Birthday and even had it done a week in advance as I knew that Lesley would have us use same sketch as last week only this week we would do a masculine take on it.

Well I had the card done, the post done and scheduled to go live when the day came.

Yesterday, I got an email from Lesley asking me to be the guest designer this week. Of course I said YES.

That meant making a new card using one of Lori's wonderful images as she is the sponsor this month at Seize the Birthday. Since I used to be on Lori's design team I had no problem finding the perfect image to use. (don't tell anyone I think I have almost all of her images)

So here is my card. Isn't he a cute little digi? Papers are by My Minds Eye from Lost and Found 3 and that polaroid frame is by Papertrey Ink.

Here is the sketch.

And just so my original card doesn't go unseen here it is.

I used a new stamp by Whipper Snapper that I picked up about 6 months ago but never used. The polaroid frame is by PTI, papers are by MME from the Lime Twist collection, wood stars are by Studio Calico and the sentiment is by KaiserCraft, the alpha stickers are from my stash.

I hope you will stop over at the Seize the Birthday blog and see what the design team created with the sketch this week. Tell them I sent you, I am trying to get brownie points so I can apply for the next design team call, but don't tell Lesley.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

birthday wishes ~ STB3

Just a quick card to share with you for the this weeks new sketch over at Seize the Birthday.

Love playing along each week. This week it is all about making a birthday card for a girl and next week we will be using the same sketch and making a card for a little boy. I am cheating a little and also working on my little boy card so it is already to go next week when the challenge goes live.

For my card I used papers and chipboard from the October Afternoon 'calk walk' collection. The sentiment is from a stamp set by KaiserCraft.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

happy birthday - STB #2

It's week two over at Seize the Birthday and this week we are using the same sketch as week one but making a masculine card instead.

I always need little boy birthday cards so decided to use one of Lori Boyd's images 'puddle jumper dress-up landon' along with papers from the Lime Twist collection by My Minds Eye.

Once again here is the sketch we are to use for our inspiration.

you old ...

(this is my second post for today, please scroll down to see my ADFD post)

Did you know there is a new challenge blog that just started? Yep, I could not wait for it to start so I could get my supply of birthday cards started.

This first week over at "seize the Birthday" is a sketch challenge and we are to create a feminine birthday card.

I just had to use this Stella image by Bugaboo Stamps. I have just the friend sister in mind to send it to.  Papers are by BasicGrey from the 'fiction' collection.

Here is the first sketch. Don't you just love it?

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.
