peace ~ merry monday #33

I have a quick card to share that I created for this weeks challenge over at Merry Monday.

For my card I used a new stamp by Hero Arts called Winter Trees, the flair button is by BasicGrey from the Aspen Frost collection, a QuicKutz embossing folder along with some ribbon from my stash.

This is the sketch for this weeks challenge and if you hurry you still have time to play.

Well it is definitely cool here in Minnesota and our furnace actually turned on this morning. They are predicting our first frost tonight.

Thanks for stopping by and as usual your comments are appreciated.

trick or treat

A quick card to share that I created this morning before heading out to run errands.

I used the sketch from from Try Stamping on Tuesday which is a new to me again sketch blog found via my friend LeAnne's blog.

I needed one more Halloween card for a custom order I am doing so this sketch was perfect for me. I used papers and embellishments by doodlebug design from the "haunted manor" collection.

While out running errands today I had to take a detour and snap a photo of this beautiful tree. After too many days well into the 90's and to much humidity it is nice to have on a sweatshirt and to actually have to close the windows at night.

Thanks for stopping by to look and as usual your comments are always welcome.

happy - PP113

A quick card to share with you today that I created using the newest challenge over at the paper players.

For being a clean and simple challenge it sure took me a long time to make. I think this is the third one I made and finally decided this one was okay to submit.

I used papers and alpha stickers from the October Afternoon "cake walk" collection, the little enamel dots are by My Minds Eye. I have had this collection for about 4 months and just took my first cut into it.

Thanks for stopping by to visit.

so sweet - ftl208

A quick card for you today that I created using this weeks sketch over at Clean and Simple stamping.

I used papers and embellishments from the My Minds Eye - The Sweetest Thing "tangerine" collection.

Here is a little collage of Micah from this past weekend.

I spent the weekend watching Micah and Cassie while there parents got away for a couple days. Let me tell you I could not wait to get home to take a nap and then get some crafting done.

I love this weeks sketch over at retro sketches so just had to play along. I need a couple more Halloween cards for an order I am doing so thought this sketch would be perfect for that.

I used papers from the doodlebug collection "haunted manor" along with a recollections sticker from my stash.

Thought I would share a few photos from the weekend.

Here is a photo of Cassie after we went and got her eyebrows waxed for the first time and her hair styled for a birthday party she was attending later that night with her friends.

I love this one of Micah. He came out of his room with these goggles on and looking so serious. This little boy just makes my heart melt.

merry monday - sketch 32

Lesley created another fun sketch over at Merry Monday so I just had to play along again this week.

I used some new papers by Simple Stories on my card along with a vintage image from my stash.

Here is this weeks fabulous sketch.

Are you playing along this week? If you do let me know so I can come over and check out what you did with this great sketch.

Micah started pre-school this week so he can try and get over his shyness. He is getting so big I can't get over it. He always tells me "I am going to stay little forever". If only he could.

Thanks for stopping by.

my deer

Just a quick card to share with you that I created for the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge

I used papers by Bella Blvd and Simple Stories along with Paper Smooches stamps from "falling for you" and "happy camper".

Yoga Yolanda

Sometimes you just see a stamp and know that it has to come home with you.

Meet Yoga Yolanda.

I went by Archivers yesterday to use my 43% off coupon.

I just love her and she reminds me of me. I am doing weight watchers right now and my next step is to add some exercising in the mix as I am stuck at the 50 lb. weight loss and want/need to lose more.

frankenstein

I was watching videos on You Tube (thanks Angie) and came across one to create a Frankenstein using the top note die by Stampin' Up.

In the tutorial she used a pleated glassine bag in the middle of the front and back to hold some halloween goodies. I didn't have a bag with a pleat so had to improvise on mine. Now I am on the hunt to find some bags with pleats so I can do these for a few of my favorite little ghost and goblins.

Thanks for stopping by to look and if you have any questions leave a comment.

trick or treat

As I said in a previous post I LOVE making Halloween cards.

I used papers and boutique brads from the doodlebug design "haunted manor" 6x6 pad, the little monster is a sticker embellishment by recollections and the alpha stickers are by Prima. I also did a little bit of stitching, I love how it adds a little more dimension to the card. I don't do it as often as I should.

The inspiration for this card is from Karen's sketch over at Sweet Sunday.

You will be seeing a few more Halloween cards in the future as I have an order for 6 of them, I am just hoping I don't run out of paper. I have used over half of this paper pad already.

Thanks for stopping by to visit my blog.

Project Life and Halloween Class

I took a Halloween Card class at Archivers earlier this week and wanted to share the fun little cards we made.

They were so much fun to make and took hardly no time at all. I think from the time we started until we were done was about 1.5 hours. That included a lot of talking as well.

I also wanted to share a couple of pages from my latest additions to my Project Life album. I am just wrapping up week 36 and will start week 37 on Sunday.

I received the Orange project life binder along with the Clementine core kit as a Christmas gift from my friend Michelle, but about 5 weeks I switched and started using up my 6x6 paper pads and embellishments. I just pick a paper pad and use it for the full week.

I am already excited about doing this project again next year and will continue to do my own journal cards and embellishments instead of buying a core kit from Becky Higgins.

Thanks for stopping by to look and I will be back soon with a card and layout to share with you.

Have a great weekend.

smile

Oh I am definitely smiling as it is finally starting to cool off here in Minnesota and we can shut off the air conditioners and open up the windows.

A quick card that I created to the newest sketch over at Skipping Stones Design.

I used papers and stickers from the pebbles "sunny side" collection.

Thanks for stopping by to look and as always your comments are appreciated.

be you

This is my second post of the day.
If you are looking for my Merry Monday post please scroll down.

I am taking a class over at Studio Calico called "pop off the page" which is all about layering on your cards and scrapbook layouts and our first assignment was a layout.

I am not good at getting a close up of the entire page when I photograph it so did a second photo that shows the main cluster and photo. If you have any tips on how to do it let me know.

The sweet little guy in the photo is my great-nephew Ryder and he turned one this past weekend.

Thanks for stopping by to look.

Merry Monday - sketch 31

Well you all know how much I love doing the sketches over at Merry Monday and this week I am the Guest Designer over there.

I pulled out my favorite October Afternoon "holiday style" papers and stickers along with some mini market stickers. Notice I even did a little bit of stitching on this one as well.

Here is the sketch that inspired my card.

I sure hope you get a chance to play along and if you do let me know so I can stop by your blog and check out your card.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting my blog today and as always your comments are appreciated.

trick or treat

A quick card to share with you that I created for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches.

I love making Halloween cards. I think it is because of the fun bright colors that everyone associates with this holiday.

I used papers by doodlebug from the haunted manor collection. The main stamped image is a stamp I have had forever called trick or feet by Stampendous. The head image is a new one by PaperTrey Ink from tremendous treats: halloween that was released this past month.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Have a great day!

relax

My friend Amy sent me an early birthday gift and it arrived on Thursday.

She put this awesome kit together for Cassie over at Paper Issues and it is the Paper Issues Fit Kit/Ecelectic Slide.

I love all the papers and embellishments that came with it and couldn't wait to play with it.

I love the colors in this kit and felt they went perfect with these two photos I took at the river while I was in Wahpeton with my two older sisters.

The kit is being introduced over on the Paper Issues blog today and my friend Amy will be sharing what she created with it as well.

Make sure to stop by and tell them I sent you.

Thanks for stopping by today to look and as always your comments are appreciated.
