something to crow about

It is new release day over at A Day for Daisies and this weeks images are so wonderful that I just had to play with two of them.

Any of you that know me know that I love roosters and have several of them in my kitchen, I can't resist them especially the non-traditional kind.

I kept my card real clean and simple and just used a copic marker to outline the image and my Score-Pal to create the pattern in the background.

Next up is another new release called "bear hat". I love the hat along with the little duck pull toy.

Here is a look at all of this weeks new releases and don't forget to stop by the blog to see what the other design team members have created along with a special announcement by Tammy.

superhero

I love making baby cards and I was so excited to see that this weeks challenge over at "One Layer Wednesday" is to make a one layer baby card.

I had so much fun making my first card I decided to create a second one. I am going to send this first card to my great nephew Adrian who just became a big brother last week to Ryder James.

Sorry about the lighting on these two cards I could not get a good shot to save my life and wanted to get these cards posted.

Thanks for stopping by.
Enjoy!

winter wishes

It is a beautiful day here in Minnesota and I was in the mood to make a Christmas card this morning.

I pulled out a stamp that my friend Amy had sent me last year along with a Penny Black stamp and some Memory Box papers and Distress inks.

I like how it turned out so will be making a few more to add to my Christmas card pile for this year.

Thanks for stopping by to look and make sure to stop by tomorrow for some new releases over at ADFD.

friends forever

I have a quick card to share with you today that I made for the newest challenge over at the My Minds Eye blog.

For my card I used papers from the Lost & Found Two "sunshine" collection. I think the colors in this collection are just beautiful.

Here is the sketch that I used for my inspiration.

deck the halls

I am so excited about this weeks new releases over at A Day For Daisies. Tammy has outdone herself and has put me into the Christmas Spirit (even though it is like 90 degrees out with high humidity).

I got to play with the new "warm in winter" image. Once I saw it I knew that I had to use this one for my card this week.

Isn't that bird just the cutest? I had a little problem with my copics (or should I say me the person using them) and over colored the bird and he did a little bit of bleeding underneath. Oh well next time I will have to try and remember not to try and blend him that much.

Here is a look at all of this weeks new releases that are available in the store here.

Thanks for stopping by to look and leave your comments. I appreciate each of you that takes time to do that.

white on white

I created a card for the newest challenge over at "less is more" and this weeks challenge was to use any 3 previous challenges and create a card with them.

I used the following challenges on my card:

week 14 ~ white on white
week 15 ~ embossing
week 16 ~ butterflies
week 10 ~ sentiment only

This was a fun challenge and it gave me a chance to use my new BasicGrey by Sizzix embossing folder along with my PTI fillable frames #2 stamps.

Enjoy!

halloween night

Friday and time for another new release by Tammy at A Day for Daisies. This week we are bringing out some fun Halloween images.

I got to play with "happy halloween night" and I had so much fun coloring it. The papers I used are by We R Memory Keepers.

I used this weeks challenge over at CPS for my layout inspiration this week.

Here are all of this weeks new images and if you stop by the ADFD blog you can see all the samples that the design team came up with.

Don't forget you still have one week to join in on this weeks challenge which is to use twine on your card or layout along with one of the images from A Day for Daisies.

bloom on

I have another quick card to share with you today that I created for the challenge over at Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.

I used my favorite stamp set by PPRS along with some My Minds Eye Papers from the "sunshine" collection. I also used some distress inks.

Here is the sketch I used for the inspiration for my card.

Well that is it for me today. Thanks for stopping by and as usual your comments are appreciated. I am off to the grocery store as I am in the mood to make some lasagna for dinner.

happy day

I just got back from my weekly pool date with Micah and his Mom and thought I would share a card that I created early this morning.

I picked up all of the new Lost and Found Two 6x6 pads at Archivers this past week and could not wait to make a card or two with the "Rosy" collection.

These papers are absolutely perfect for card making. Due to all the beautiful elements right on the paper you don't even need to stamp. All I did was add a border and a button with some twine and it was done. A very easy birthday card.

I think my favorite is the "blush" and I am making a dance scrapbook with it for Cassie. I will share once I have the photos added to it.

out of print

I think "out of print" has to be my favorite all time release by BasicGrey. I have bought a ton of it and used it on a couple of Mini albums along with some scrapbook layouts and even a few cards and I still want to run out and buy more before it is gone.

Today I used it on this weeks sketch over at CPS (card positioning systems) along with a Martha Stewart "butterfly" punch and some Cosmo Cricket "tiny type" stickers.

I really like this sketch and will be adding it to my 2011 sketchbook for use again in the future.

Thanks for stopping by to look and your comments are not only welcome but they are appreciated too.

let loose upon the earth

I was playing with my Authentic "glowing" papers and icons again today along with this weeks challenge over at Sweet Sunday Sketch.

And here is the sketch that inspired my card. As you can see I rotated the sketch a little.

Thanks for stopping by to look.

grateful for you

I have a really clean and simple card for you today that I created for this weeks CAS-ual Friday challenge.

The challenge this week is to use embossing either dry or heat embossing and for my card I did a little bit of both.

Sorry the picture is so dark I could not get a good photo today and when I tried adjusting the colors in photoshop it just kept getting grayer.

Thanks for stopping by to look.

happy haunting

I created a quick card this morning using the August sketch over at I heart to stamp and some new papers and icons by Authentique that I picked up at Archiver's yesterday.

If you have't seen this paper collection it is absolutely beautiful. I love the colors, the patterns and all the embellishments that go along with it.

turning six

It is finally Friday and that means time for a new release and a challenge over at the A Day for Daisies Blog.

The challenge this week is to use Twine on your card.

I used the image called "turning six" on my card along with some papers from My Minds Eye and twine from "the twinery".

I used this weeks sketch over at CPS for the inspiration behind my card.

Here are all of this weeks new releases.

I hope you will join us this week in the challenge and remember to be entered you need to use one of the A Day for Daisies images along with some twine from your stash.

laugh

Don't you just love the sound of a child laughing? I spent yesterday at a neighborhood park with my two little grandkids and we had so much fun.

I created a card today for this weeks sketch over at Sweet Sunday and it reminds me of the fun I had today which is just what I needed as I have been feeling a little down lately.

Here is the sketch that inspired my card.

And here are a couple of pictures from today.

Thanks for stopping by to look and as usual I love to read your comments.

white space

I have a couple new cards to share with you today.

First up is the card I made for this weeks challenge over at the Less is More Challenge. This week we were to make a one layer card which for me is usually the hardest since I usually put patterned paper on everything.

I used distress inks and this tree image and although I think the image is a little darker than I originally had planned for I think I am okay with it.

Next up CAS-ual Fridays and Clean and Simple stamping have joined forces this week and have come up with a sketch challenge for us.

I opted to go for lots of white space on this one two and just add a small strip of pattern paper to the image.

Thanks for stopping by to look. I appreciate your comments.
