snowflakes - part III

I am having a little love affair with snowflakes here and my last three post have had them both on the cards and in the title of my post.

Yep, soon as I saw this post from Retro Sketches I knew I just had to do a fun glittered chipboard snowflake on it.

I used papers by Studio Calico from the 'darling dear' collection along with a Maya Road chipboard snowflake that I painted silver and then added glitter to while it was still wet. The button is by October Afternoon and the twine is by Jillibean.

I am also entering this into the Paper Players challenge for this week which is to use snowflakes.

joy

I found a new to me challenge blog while surfing around the internet today, CAS Colours and Sketches

So decided to ink up my Papertrey Ink 'winter hills' stamp set along with some Studio Calico papers from the darling dear collection.

I flipped the sketch to fit the main image I wanted to use.

snowflakes - part II

I bought a couple of new Sizzix embossing folders that are just big snowflakes and have had a couple of them embossed sitting on my desk waiting for just the right challenge to use them on.

Well today is the day I get to use one. This weeks challenge over at the Paper Players was the perfect one.

This card came together in less than two minutes. I added some Prima 'say it with crystals' and adhered it to a card base and it was done.

You will see me enter this challenge at least two more times this week since every challenge I see lately has snowflakes or what could be snowflakes in the sketch.

snowflakes

A quick card to share that I made really early this morning which explains why the photo is so dark.

I created this card using the sketch over at Unscripted Sketches as well as this weeks challenge at The Paper Players.

This sketch worked perfect for my kraft and white snowflake and I lucked out with the challenge at the Paper Players being snowflakes.

momma & her boys ~ TPE38

(this is my 2nd post for today, please scroll down to see my Artful Delight post)

We have  new scrapbook challenge for you over at The Pink Elephant and this week it is a color challenge.

My layout features a photo of my niece Leah and her two boys Adrian (aka ACE) and Ryder. Papers and alphas are by Authentique from the 'delightful' paper kit. The flair button is from my stash.

Sorry the photo is not the greatest, we are having some really grey days here in Minnesota and after getting 12.5" of snow over the weekend hoping that helps to brighten it up just a little outside.

Make sure to check over at the blog and see what the rest of the girls have created for this color challenge.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

your're brrr-fect

It's my turn over at the Artful Delight blog to post a card using the December Card Kit.

Everything on my card is from the kit. Don't you just love that little penguin image?

I used the Paper Smooches Sparks December Draft challenge as the inspiration for this card.

season's greetings

I have a quick card to share with you that I created today using this weeks sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

I used papers from the Peppermint collection by Crate Paper, the holly piece is from my stash and the sentiment is Simon Says Stamp.

Here is the great sketch that I used.

jingle balls

Doesn't the name of my post just make you laugh or at least snicker a little.

Isn't this just the cutest little stamp? Love those little snow guys. I had the hardest time with the card though and almost trashed it after my second go at coloring it. Not sure why but on the first image the red bled really bad and even my colorless marker would not remove the mess I made and then on this image the blue did the same thing. So don't look too close at this image.

I used this weeks 'what if wednesday' challenge for the inspiration on my card layout. I also used some of my wrinkle ribbon which I haven't used in awhile and a large dots embossing folder.

Seize the Birthday

Did you hear there is a new blog in town starting in January and it is all about birthdays. I am super excited for it to begin. There is a pre-opening challenge going on right now to link up a birthday card now. It can be a new card or an already posted card, it just needs to be a new post.

My card is one I created a month ago, but is still one of my favorites so am sharing it again.

You can find out all the information here. So head on over there and leave Lesley a little love on her newest adventure.

Mr. Snowman - JOY

Silly me forgot to take a photo and post it of the card that I sent to Sebastian to cheer him up before surgery. So I decided to make another one and get it in the mail to him too. You can read about him on my friend Amy's blog.

The papers and alpha stickers are from Studio Calico's 'darling dear' collection, the snowman is designed by Lori Boyd and that big snowflake is Martha Stewart.

I used this weeks sketch over at Try Stampin' on Tuesdays as the inspiration behind today's card.

let's chill out

(this is my 2nd post, please scroll down to see my TPE post for today)

Have I told y'all how much I love this months card kit from Artful Delight? If I haven't then consider yourself told. *wink*

Everything on my card is from the kit except I swapped out the green and white twin that was on the reindeer for some natural twine that was in my stash. I used the other twine on a tag that I made.

Although you can't see it I stamped that little snowflake that is in the sentiment above all over the blue paper behind the deer with versamark.

I used this weeks sketch over at Try Stampin' on Tuesdays for my inspiration.

around the house

Saturday and time for another scrapbook challenge over at The Pink Elephant. Challenge #37 is a recipe challenge and we are to use the following on our layout: Stitching, Large Title and the color Green.

This was a fun layout for me. I did some stitching around that dictionary paper as well as stitching across my title. I added some touches of green in that cute polaroid frame, the title and those Studio  Calico mistable trees that I painted and then added some dots with enamel accents.

Make sure to stop over at the blog and see what Lori and the rest of the design team have come up with and I can't' wait to see what you create with our challenge this week.

Mr. Snowman

(Please scroll down for my A Day For Daisies post)

Isn't this snowman one of the cutest you have seen in awhile? I got him over at Lori Boyd's Lollipop Shop. Lori is having a "Winter" Challenge on her blog too so I am entering my card into that as well as using the sketch from the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge blog.

Year in Review with Merry Monday

A little more exciting news to share with you. Originally my term with Merry Monday was to go until April 2013, but Lesley has asked me to stay on the Design Team until December 2013. Of course I just had to say YES!

Although last week was our last official post for Merry Monday, Lesley received request from quite a few of you asking for one more challenge so we are doing a Year in Review.

That is right, pick any sketch from this past year and create a card and post it on your blog. You have until December 16th to get it linked up. You will find all of our sketches here.

I picked my favorite sketch from this past year which was #36 for my card. Which sketch is your favorite?

This last challenge gave me a chance to play with my new October Afternoon papers, buttons and postcards from the 'make it merry' collection.

Now show me your favorite and don't forget to link it up before Sunday, December 16th as that is when Lesley will shut down the blog until after the first of the year.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

hello

While I still had my Artful Delight December card kit still on my desk I thought I would put together a quick tag for this weeks challenge over at CAS-UAL Fridays.

I love adding homemade tags to my gift bags and bottles of wine at Christmas time. The back of the tag has a message from our family to the recipient.

love today

(this is my third post today ~ scroll down to see my TPE Scrapbook and Artful Delight post)

It's December and time for the first challenge over at Stamp Your Life, LLC., which is an "Anything Goes" challenge.

I used the love today stamp from the store to create the background on my card and colored it with a couple of Copic markers. I added some glossy accents to each of the hearts to make them POP!

The challenges will run until the 21st of each month with the winner announced the last week of the month. I hope you will join in on our first challenge and remember it is "Anything Goes".

Make sure to check out the blog to see what the other members of the design team have created and to link up your project to play along.

merry christmas

(Scroll down for my TPE Scrapbook Post for today)

Wow, it is December 1st already. Where has the time gone. Seems like I just showed you the Artful Delight card kit for November and today I am sharing a photo of this months kit along with a card I created using some of the awesome products in the kit.

This months kit is all about Christmas and has everything you need to create some extra holiday cards, tags or Thank You cards.

Everything on my card is from the kit except for the white gel pen. You can't tell in the picture but those snowflakes are like a fuzzy glitter.

Here is what the sketch looks like for this months card kit challenge and don't forget to check out our Dececmber scrapbook sketch as well. You can find both on the blog as well as  a full list of what comes in each kit.

I'll be back next Saturday with another card featuring this months kit.

woot woot- TPE #36

I am so excited to announce that Lori Boyd picked me to be on her Design Team over at The Pink Elephant Scrapbook Challenge. I am beyond excited to join this wonderful group of women.

This weeks challenge theme is "Thankful".

On this layout I used papers and embellishments by Pebbles from the Walnut Grove collection. I added some jillibean soup alpha mixed with two different Pebbles alpha stickers, and some Mister Huey's color mist.

You won't see any journaling on my page as I scrapbook for my niece and nephew and I let them add the journaling once I mail the layouts to them. You will probably see a lot of Adrian and Ryder in my layouts to come.

Here is a close-up of the photo's along with the small detail around the photo.

Please stop over at TPE blog to check out what the other members of the design team have created. I can't wait to see what you do with this weeks challenge.

I am also entering this layout into the December ScrapFit challenge which is also 'Thankful'.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.
