pinch me - TPE50

This week at The Pink Elephant Scrapbook Challenge our challenge is called "pinch me" which means we want to see the color green on your layout.

This is a picture of Micah from his first birthday. It is one of my favorite pictures and it is so hard to believe that tomorrow/St. Patrick's Day he will be 4 years old.

I hope to see you playing along with us this week.

I used the March scrapbook sketch from Artful Delight for my inspiration on this layout.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

family - tpe49

This week over at The Pink Elephant Scrapbook Challenges we have a recipe challenge for you. We want to see buttons, ribbons and stitching on your layout. You can do a digital or a traditional layout.

I have had this photo of my Dad's parents in my stash for awhile now to scrapbook and this challenge was perfect for an older photo.

I also challenged myself to use papers from a 6x6 paper collection that has been sitting on top of my desk for awhile now. The 6x6 papers, ribbons, stickers and fabric brads are all from the BasicGrey 'lucille collection and the main 12x12 paper is by Studio Calico. I x6the doilies to the layout not only because I like how they looked but they also hid where I joined the 6x6 papers together.

I hope you will find time to play along with us this week in our recipe challenge. Make sure and check out what the rest of the design team has created here on the blog.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

Brothers - TPE #48

This week over at The Pink Elephant Scrapbook Challenge we want to see Hexagons/Chevrons on your layouts.

I dug through all of my papers and had a hard time finding either one of these but finally found an Echo Park collection that had a chevron paper in it. The full sheet was a little too much for the layout so I just cut a section of them out.

Make sure and stop over at the TPE blog and check out what the rest of the design team created for this challenge and I can't wait to see what you do with it.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

love

This weeks theme at The Pink Elephant Scrapbook Challenge is we want to see banners on your layout.

I used this photo of my great-nephew Ryder and added banners wherever I could fit them using scrap papers that were on my desk from my last layout that I posted.

All product you see on my layout are by Studio Calico. I love the printable labels they offer each month in the digital shop as well as the brads, Mister Hueys and papers.

Make sure and stop over at the blog and see what the rest of the design team have come up  with using this weeks challenge "banners".

Handsome Little Devil

(this is my second post for today, please scroll down to see my Artful Delight post)

It is time for a sketch challenge over at The Pink Elephant Scrapbook.

I love this weeks sketch and immediately pulled out this photo of my great nephew Adrian that I have been wanting to scrap for awhile. He has the best looking eyes and face. I have a feeling he is going to be a big heartbreaker in a few years.

I used papers by Studio Calico along with some stickers and wood veneers. The layout came together rather quickly for me. (less than two hours)

Make sure and stop over at the blog and see what the rest of the design team has come up with using this sketch.

This week at The Pink Elephant Scrapbook Challenge blog we are doing a "Lift it" challenge. So find a scrapbook layout you love and LIFT it!

I have a layout that I loved and I printed it out so I could "lift" it and unfortunately I don't remember who's blog I got it off of and I can't find it to show you. So with that being said here is my layout.

I will continue to look through my files and see if I can find the original photo to post here.

Make sure and stop over and see what the rest of the design team have come up with.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

play ~ TPE #44

This week over at The Pink Elephant Scrapbook Challenge we have a sketch for you to try.

This sketch took me a little longer than I thought it would as I took forever to find some papers that would work with this photo of Micah.

I finally picked papers by Little Yellow Bicycle and some Thickers alpha letters.

Make sure and stop over at the blog and see what the rest of the design team has created with the sketch.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

ozzy ~ TPE43

(this is my 2nd post today, please scroll down for my Artful Delight post)

Time for a new color challenge over at The Pink Elephant Scrapbook Challenge

I had a hard time coming up with the colors for this weeks challenge in my paper stash so had to bring out a little bit of the rebel and mix in a couple of other colors. I think overall I stuck to the color challenge though.

Meet Ozzy who is my nephew Jason's dog. He is such a fun, photogenic dog that I just had to use this photo that his wife Leah took.

Make sure and stop over at the TPE blog and check out what the rest of the design team created. Hope you will play along with us this week.

Saturday and time for another challenge over at The Pink Elephant

This week Lori has a birthday theme challenge for us.

This is a layout of my sweet nephew Ryder taken at his first birthday party. He is such a sweet little boy.

I used paper and embellishments from October Afternoon 'cake walk' collection.

Okay now I hope you will join us in our Birthday themed challenge and that you will also stop over at Lori's blog and leave her some birthday wishes as it is her birthday today. Tell her I sent you.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

playday - TPE blog hop

If you are following the TPE blog hop you should have arrived here from Claudia's blog.

It is time for a blog hop to do the official introduction of the scrapbook design team over at The Pink Elephant. We are going to each introduce ourselves to you and share a layout that we created just for this hop.

First, I want to say I am super excited to be a part of this amazing design team. I am Mom to Justin and wife to Joseph. We live in Minnesota with one very mean green cheeked conure parrot named Birdie. I started scrapbooking about 15 years ago after taking a class at a local store, but only fell in love with it about 5 years ago. I can't wait to get to know all of you and look forward to seeing your scrapbook style.

Here is the layout I created for the hop. This weeks theme is "anything goes". So I decided to use some papers from my scrap pile along with a sketch from BasicGrey.

Now the next stop on this hop is Jessica's blog. If you get lost along the way just head back to the TPE blog here.

merry christmas - tpe#40

(this is my 2nd post of the day, please scroll down for my Artful Delight post)

Saturday and time for a color challenge over at The Pink Elephant. I definitely thought of Christmas when I saw the color theme for this week.

I knew exactly what picture and what papers I was going to use when I saw this challenge. I just love this photo of Ryder and the expression on his face Christmas morning.

I used papers and stickers by October Afternoon from the 'make it merry' collection. I just love everything about this newest collection from them.

I hope you will take time and play along with me and the other design team members in our newest challenge. You can do traditional scrapbooking or digital.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

best friend - TPE39

(this is my 2nd post today, please scroll down to see my Artful Delight post)

Time for a new challenge at The Pink Elephant and this week we have a sketch challenge for you.

I used a photo my of sweet great-nephew Adrian (aka ACE) with his best friend Ozzy. I just love the look on his face and know that Ozzy was probably telling him some great story that only he could hear.

Here is our sketch for this week. I sure hope you take some time to play along with us and if you do let me know so I can come over a take a look at what you have created.
You will find all the rules for playing along over on the blog here.

So are you ready for the holidays yet? I have been busy baking and had to make a second batch of these chocolate haystacks as we (okay me) ate them all, except for the ones I gave away to family.

momma & her boys ~ TPE38

(this is my 2nd post for today, please scroll down to see my Artful Delight post)

We have  new scrapbook challenge for you over at The Pink Elephant and this week it is a color challenge.

My layout features a photo of my niece Leah and her two boys Adrian (aka ACE) and Ryder. Papers and alphas are by Authentique from the 'delightful' paper kit. The flair button is from my stash.

Sorry the photo is not the greatest, we are having some really grey days here in Minnesota and after getting 12.5" of snow over the weekend hoping that helps to brighten it up just a little outside.

Make sure to check over at the blog and see what the rest of the girls have created for this color challenge.

around the house

Saturday and time for another scrapbook challenge over at The Pink Elephant. Challenge #37 is a recipe challenge and we are to use the following on our layout: Stitching, Large Title and the color Green.

This was a fun layout for me. I did some stitching around that dictionary paper as well as stitching across my title. I added some touches of green in that cute polaroid frame, the title and those Studio  Calico mistable trees that I painted and then added some dots with enamel accents.

Make sure to stop over at the blog and see what Lori and the rest of the design team have come up with and I can't' wait to see what you create with our challenge this week.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

woot woot- TPE #36

I am so excited to announce that Lori Boyd picked me to be on her Design Team over at The Pink Elephant Scrapbook Challenge. I am beyond excited to join this wonderful group of women.

This weeks challenge theme is "Thankful".

On this layout I used papers and embellishments by Pebbles from the Walnut Grove collection. I added some jillibean soup alpha mixed with two different Pebbles alpha stickers, and some Mister Huey's color mist.

You won't see any journaling on my page as I scrapbook for my niece and nephew and I let them add the journaling once I mail the layouts to them. You will probably see a lot of Adrian and Ryder in my layouts to come.

Here is a close-up of the photo's along with the small detail around the photo.

Please stop over at TPE blog to check out what the other members of the design team have created. I can't wait to see what you do with this weeks challenge.

I am also entering this layout into the December ScrapFit challenge which is also 'Thankful'.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

Happy & Sad ~ TPE33

(If you are looking for my Merry Monday post please scroll down or click here.)

It's a sketch challenge over at The Pink Elephant and I just had to play along as the pile of photos on my desk to be scrapped is the biggest I have ever seen it.

I used these two instagram photos of my great-nephew ACE aka Adrian along with papers and embellishments from the Amy Tangerine 'read set go' collection.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

2013 Calendar - November

If you read my two earlier post today I am working on my annual calendar that I hang in my kitchen.

For this layout I used papers from Fall Fever by Echo Park. The stamped leaves are from a set by Ali Edwards for Studio AE at Technique Tuesday along with a digital file called 'monthly circle set' from Stamp Your Life. This set is not yet available in the store but I will be giving a set away later this month during our blog hop, so stay tuned for that.

This is a close up of all the bits and bobs I used on my page.

I am entering this layout in The Pink Scrapbook Challenge which this week is a color challenge. We are to use Yellow, Green, Brown and Cream.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.
