happy birthday - STB #2

It's week two over at Seize the Birthday and this week we are using the same sketch as week one but making a masculine card instead.

I always need little boy birthday cards so decided to use one of Lori Boyd's images 'puddle jumper dress-up landon' along with papers from the Lime Twist collection by My Minds Eye.

Once again here is the sketch we are to use for our inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

Week 2 ~ Project Life

So far I am keeping up with Project Life and I think it helps that I have decided Thursday on my blog will be my day to show the previous weeks layouts.

I am really enjoying this project and even more so this year. Maybe because I am sharing it here on my blog. Getting braver about having our lives a little more out there.

As I was putting this two week spread together I realized it was mainly about my crafts and Cassie and Micah. I didn't have a single shot of my husband or son. I told Joe we will have to fix that next week.

I am doing a few things the same each week, like the calendar card with the week number on it, the front page of one of our newspapers, and the weather shot. I think it will be nice to be able to look back and see what was in the headlines and also what the weather was like.

I also added this little envelope so I could put in a card from a friend as well as a note from my sister/best friend.

I am trying to use more of my stamps in Project Life this year as well as Washi Tape. I used Stazon ink this week to stamp on that picture of Micah in the lower left corner. Love Today stamp is from Stamp Your Life, LLC.

Okay, that is a look at our week two. I will be back next Thursday with Week three.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

hello friend

There is a new challenge blog out there called Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog and today is their first challenge called "anything goes" and they are offering a free digital image for us to play along with on their blog or they have lots of digital images for sale in the shop.

I used the free flower pot image for my card along with some of my handmade wrinkle ribbon and stickers for the sentiment.

If you like using digital images stop by and check them out and then grab the free image and play along.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

happy birthday

A quick card to share with you that I created for the 'keep it simple' challenge this week.

This weeks challenge was to use a frame on your card. I dug through my stash and found a chipboard frame that I have sitting on my desk for at least six months. I paper pieced it with some paper and chipboard from the dear lizzy '5th and frolic' collection and stamped the happy birthday in the center. I used my score buddy and did some lines around the framed piece.

I really like how it turned out and so happy I kept that frame on my desk and didn't throw it out.

party - TPE #42

Saturday and time for another challenge over at The Pink Elephant

This week Lori has a birthday theme challenge for us.

This is a layout of my sweet nephew Ryder taken at his first birthday party. He is such a sweet little boy.

I used paper and embellishments from October Afternoon 'cake walk' collection.

Okay now I hope you will join us in our Birthday themed challenge and that you will also stop over at Lori's blog and leave her some birthday wishes as it is her birthday today. Tell her I sent you.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

sweetie pie

Today is my second post for the month of January using the Artful Delight Card kit. If I haven't said it before "I absolutely love this kit".

I used some of the embellishments in the kit, the chipboard, the button and gems as well as the paper embellishments.

Everything on my card is from the kit except the paint and glossy accents I used on the chipboard xoxo piece.

I will be back next Saturday with another card from this great kit.

you old ...

(this is my second post for today, please scroll down to see my ADFD post)

Did you know there is a new challenge blog that just started? Yep, I could not wait for it to start so I could get my supply of birthday cards started.

This first week over at "seize the Birthday" is a sketch challenge and we are to create a feminine birthday card.

I just had to use this Stella image by Bugaboo Stamps. I have just the friend sister in mind to send it to.  Papers are by BasicGrey from the 'fiction' collection.

Here is the first sketch. Don't you just love it?

one balloon

This week over at the A Day for Daisies blog Tammy is releasing individual images for the first time from one of the previous Club Kits.

I got a chance to play with 'one balloon' which is one of my all time favorite images by Tammy. You can find it in the shop here.

I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps for the layout on my card. I used papers by BasicGrey from the Fact collection, some MME enamel dots, Copic Markers and some Glossy Accents. You can even see some stitching on one of the panels.

Here is a look at all the images from the Club Kit being released as individual images this week.

Make sure and stop over at the ADFD blog and check out what the rest of the design team have created or click on the link on my sidebar to each of the designers.

Project Life ~ Week One

Last year I did Project Life the entire year and loved it more each week that I did it. So happy to have done the entire 52 weeks. I love looking back at my two albums and getting a glimpse into our everyday.

I am once again doing Project Life this year but will be sharing my pages with you every Thursday.

Along with creating a lot of my journal cards and using up my stash I will also be using the monthly printables, flair badges, washi tape and stamps available from Stamp Your Life, LLC

Meet the Monthly Printables for January. These are available in the shop now.

The flair badges are new and have just hit the shop, but starting next month they will coordinate with the monthly printables.

Here is a look at my Week One.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

love

A quick card to share with you today that I created for this weeks challenge over at retro sketches.

For my card I used papers and stickers from Crate Papers 'fourteen' collection. I think by the time Valentines Day gets here I will be tired of this paper collection. I think I have used it on about 5 cards so far this month.

Here is the sketch that inspired my card.

be jolly

Now that we have all put Christmas 2012 behind us it is time to start working on those holiday cards for Christmas 2013.

Time for our first challenge of the new year over at Merry Monday and this week we have a color challenge for you.

I chose to use this sweet image from Bugaboo stamps called 'old snow star', along with my favorite snowflake embossing folder and an ornament die from PaperTrey Ink.

I hope you will find time to join us this week in our first challenge of the new year.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

thanks ~

I spent yesterday catching up on a few design team projects and then got busy making some fun cards for a few challenges out there.

First up is the card I made using the sketch over at Fab Friday.

This is a great sketch. CAS perfection to me.

I am also entering this into the CAS-UAL Friday challenge this week.

just for fun

I have a card to share today that I created for my Sister Sharon who's birthday is next week. We always send each other either funny or mean cards. Mine are usually funny hers are sometimes sisterly mean. lol

She once sent me a card that said "Mom always gives me $100 for my birthday, what does she send you?

This is a new stamp set called 'front and backs' on the outside you have this beautiful young lady and...

when you open it up directly behind the front image is this! I have attached the rear of the image with a 'wobbie' so when you touch it, it moves.

Just made me laugh so I knew I had to get it.

playday - TPE blog hop

If you are following the TPE blog hop you should have arrived here from Claudia's blog.

It is time for a blog hop to do the official introduction of the scrapbook design team over at The Pink Elephant. We are going to each introduce ourselves to you and share a layout that we created just for this hop.

First, I want to say I am super excited to be a part of this amazing design team. I am Mom to Justin and wife to Joseph. We live in Minnesota with one very mean green cheeked conure parrot named Birdie. I started scrapbooking about 15 years ago after taking a class at a local store, but only fell in love with it about 5 years ago. I can't wait to get to know all of you and look forward to seeing your scrapbook style.

Here is the layout I created for the hop. This weeks theme is "anything goes". So I decided to use some papers from my scrap pile along with a sketch from BasicGrey.

Now the next stop on this hop is Jessica's blog. If you get lost along the way just head back to the TPE blog here.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

hello honey

I am so excited to share with you the January Card Kit over at Artful Delight. I absolutely love everything that is included and was really excited to see that cute Paper Smooches stamp in there this month.

Since it is the start of a new month that means we also have a new sketch challenge for you and I created my card using the sketch, cardstock and stamp set from the kit, as well as using my Copic Markers and Glossy Accents from my stash.

Aren't those little bees just too cute?

Here is the sketch for January. I sure hope you will take some time and play along with me and the other card designer team members.

robots & fairy ~ ADFD

Friday and that can only mean one thing! It is time for a new release over at A Day for Daisies. This week not only do we have a new release from Tammy, but we also have a release from her sister Sam as well as a challenge and a blog hop.

The challenge this week is to use something 'shiny' on your card. Remember to play along you must use one of Tammy's images. If you don't own one check out the blog for a free image to use.

You should have arrived here from Broni's blog. Don't forget to comment on each of the DT's blogs as you could win the entire release this week.

I have two cards to share with you and the first one is using one of Tammy's new images from the cute "Robot/January Kit Club".

I used this weeks sketch at Tuesday Morning sketches for the inspiration for this card.

Next up is a card I created using on of Sam's images from 'winter mix' called 'gift for fairy'. I paper pieced up this sweet image and then added some coloring to finish it up.

Your next step on our blog hop is Arielle's blog.
