hello

There is something about a great sketch that just makes me happy. As soon as I saw this weeks sketch over at Retro Sketches I knew I had to play along.

I used papers from the Echo Park "this & that" collection along with one of my handmade felt loopy flowers. Notice I even stitched on this card.

Here is the awesome sketch that inspired me.

Thanks for stopping by to look, your comments are always welcome and appreciated.

true love

I am back with my final card as this months guest designer over at the Paper Players.

This week Ann has a sketch challenge for us.

Don't you just love a good sketch challenge?

For my card I used some new papers that I picked up last week called "paper hearts" by Crate Paper. I realize my card looks a little valentine-ish but will use it for my upcoming 37 year wedding anniversary. (oh my gosh do I feel old)

I also used some of my handmade wrinkle ribbon on this card along with a Martha Stewart border punch.

Thanks for stopping by to look and I hope you will stop over at the Paper Players blog and checkout what the rest of the design team created this week.

and Nana love YOU!

I have a quick layout to share with you that I created while watching the movie "I bought a Zoo".

I really like how this one turned out. I used some scraps that I had sitting in my scrap pile along with alphas' by Jillibean and Thickers. The banner was created using washi tapes. I figured I need to use some of those washi tapes before I buy any more. They are my latest obsession.

Thanks for stoppng by to look!

together

I have a layout to share with you that I did of my two great-nephews ACE (aka Adrian) and Ryder.

I scraplifted the layout from someones blog and now I can't find where I put the link to their blog. If you know who's layout this is let me know and I will come back and give them credit.

I used papers and embellishments from the Crate Paper 'paper hearts' collection. Stamps are by My Minds Eye and buttons are American Crafts.

Thanks for stopping by to visit my blog.

season's greetings

Definitely too hot for Christmas Cards but I love doing the challenges, especially when they have great sketches.

I created this card once again using October Afternoon "holiday style". Maybe by the time Christmas comes I will have used up all these papers and will be ready to buy their next collection.

I used this weeks sketch over at Merry Monday.

Thanks for stopping by to look.

Oh, what fun!

It is almost 80 degrees out and I am making Christmas cards. lol

First up is my card for this weeks christmas card challenge.

I decided to pull out my labels eight die and October Afternoon "holiday style" for my card.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!

all things grow with...love

It is time for another challenge over at The Paper Players and I am so enjoying my Guest Design spot with all these talented women.

This week Nance is our hostess and she has a clean and simple challenge for us.

Well you know I loved this challenge when I saw it as buttons are one of my favorite things to use on a card.

I used stamps and buttons by PTI and papers from Echo Park "this & that" collection.

I used the sketch over at Cards & Things as my sketch inspiration.

I hope you will take some time this week to play along with us.

Enjoy!

call me loopy

Yep, another card with those great loopy flowers that I just learned how to make. Thanks LeAnne!

I needed a card for my sister TerryLee as her birthday is early next week so when I saw the latest sketch over at Skipping Stones Designs I knew I had found the perfect one.

Don't you just love that sketch? I know I will be using it more and more in the future.

For my card I used a Kraft cardbase, papers from the Echo Park "this & that" Graceful collection, felt flower is made by me and the sentiment is PTI.

It is going to be another great day here in Minnesota and I am planning on spending a little time outside today working in the yard.

Thanks for stopping by.

a very happy

I spent a couple hours yesterday making these fun loopy flowers that my blog friend LeAnne showed me how to make.

Aren't those flowers just the cutest thing ever and they take like less than 2 minutes to make.

I used this weeks challenge over at Freshly Made for the inspiration on my card layout.

I chose to go straight across the top row for my card and use brads (I subbed crystals as I don't own any brads), Pink and Flowers. Did you notice the stitching on the card? I have moved my sewing machine closer to my work area and hope to be using it more and more in the coming weeks.

Thanks for stopping by to look.

only happens once...

What a beautiful day we had today! Pulled out my flip flops for the first time this year and opened up a couple windows in the house to air things out. Sure hope Mother Nature isn't fooling us.

Worked on a card after dinner tonight for the Merry Monday sketch challenge.

I used my October Afternoon "thrift shop" on this entire card. Can I just say I love this paper collection!

Here is the sketch I followed for my layout.

Don't forget you have until Friday to enter for a chance to win some blog candy.

Thanks for stopping by to look.

finally

It finally is starting to look and feel like Spring is just around the corner.

I saw this weeks new release over at A Day for Daisies and knew immediately I had to get this floral image.

I love digital images that are easy to color in and don't require much time to do it.

I used this weeks sketch over at retro sketches and turned it sideways.

happy little moments - part two

A few days ago I posted photos of the book I am making from the class I won on Ali Edwards blog through Studio Calico. I am absolutely loving it.

Here is what I have completed so far and am almost done. I have about 10 pages left to go before I mail it off.

This is what the book looked like after I removed some of the pages.

This is what it looked like after I painted and decorated the cover and spine.

Here are the completed pages so far.

Thanks for stopping by to look.

Don't forget to enter for a chance to win some blog candy for my 3 year blogversary.

thinking of you PP86

This is my second week as the guest designer over at the Paper Players and this weeks challenge is a color challenge.

I must admit that I don't own any of the SU inks or papers so I did my best to come up with these colors and this is what I created.

I used papers by My Minds Eye from the Stella and Rose collection called "Hazel", butterfly is a Martha Stewart Punch, sentiment is by PTI and ribbon is May Arts.

I used this weeks sketch over at Freshly Made for the inspiration on my layout.

I hope you will take time and play along or stop over at the Paper Players blog and check out what the design team has created for this challenge.

Thanks for stopping by to look and as usual your comments are appreciated.

framed snowman

I almost forgot to create my card for my two Christmas card challenge blogs.

I created this card using my Sizzix embossing folder, image is framed snowman by dillybeans, pattern paper is by Bo'Bunny, button and twine are from my stash.

I am entering this card into this weeks Merry Monday Challenge #10 which is a sketch challenge.

And I am also entering this card into the challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges week #14.

Thanks for stopping by!

happy blogversary

Today is my 3rd year blogversary and I think that calls for a little bit of blog candy to be slung out.

I have 3 Denami border stamp sets that I just won (thanks Dana), my favorite Crafts Meow stamp set (thanks Amy), some colorful cardstock with matching envelopes and lastly some of my handmade wrinkle ribbon.

Leave me a comment and I will pick one winner on Friday, March 16th.

Thanks for stopping by to visit my blog and those of you that leave comments for me, I want you to know that I really appreciate you.

happy little moments

I should be working on a card or something to show all of you, but have been working away on my class kit over at Studio Calico called "Happy Little Moments".

Here is what I have done so far in it and am really happy with how it is falling together. I am making the book for my nephew and his wife of their sweet little boys Adrian (aka Ace) and Ryder.

It starts out looking like this!

And after about 4 coats of gesso and paint it looks like this!

Lots of sewing inside this sweet little book

This is all I have done so far. Hoping to finish it by the weekend.

So this Saturday is my 3rd year Blogversary and I think I need to give away some blog candy so stay tuned for that post in the next day or two.

Thanks for stopping by to look and as usual your comments are welcomed.

Spring has Sprung

Over at the Paper Players blog and I am their guest designer for the entire month of March.

This month Jaydee has given us the Theme of Spring to work with.

I am so ready for spring and so excited to play along side these wonderful girls on the design team.

For my card I used papers by BasicGrey from the "picadilly" collection. The flower image and sentiment are by PTI from the "pretty peonies" anniversary set, butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch. The sketch for my card was last weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge by Karen Giron.

Please stop over at the Paper Players blog and see all the samples that the design team created for this challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.
Enjoy!
