Christmas in June

The challenge over at "Paper Play" is to create a Christmas card. It has been too hot and humid here in Minnesota to even think about Christmas, but since it is the Final Day of Cosmo Cricket over at "365 Cards" I thought I would pull out my 8x8 Cosmo Cricket paper pack from last year called "Wonderland" this has amazing papers in it as well as tags. I also used Cosmo Cricket Cardstock Stickers called "just your hoiday type". I inked everything up with Ranger Distress Vintage photo, added a Jenni Bowlin Bingo card, some May Arts ribbon and the card was ready.

Okay, that is one card down and ninety-nine more to go.

Who knows maybe I will email this photo to Lindsay over at CC he may enjoy this one as much as he enjoyed the Mr. Campy Owl card.

Day 112 - Everlasting Love

I am so sad to see Cosmo Cricket Week come to an end I have enjoyed using all of the wonderful and fun papers that they have to offer. Thanks Pam for making this one of the most enjoyable weeks here at "365 Cards" since I started.

Today's challenge was to create a card and have the word LOVE on it. I knew right away that I would use the Everafter papers and that I would use a vintage photo on my card. With a few pearls (kaisercraft), some ribbon (may arts), a flower (kaisercraft), button(autumn leaves) and Love ticket (tim holtz) I was all set to go.

Eat, Sleep, Stamp - Sketch 42

I finally got around to doing this weeks challenge over at "Eat, Sleep, Stamp". The challenge was to create a card using the following sketch. I love this sketch so clean, so easy.

For this card I used Neenah Solar White & Red Linen cardstock, BasicGrey Offbeat collection, and my new Unity Stamp set. This is from the June kit of the month and if you haven't seen this set it is amazing. If you joined the kit of the month club this month you got a free butterfly set too. I can't wait to play with that one.

My sister Linda called today from California to let me know that her new grand-daughter arrived 2 months early. I haven't had a chance to talk to her yet but the mom and baby are doing fine. The baby weighs 2 lbs. 12 oz. and is 15" long. I will get more details hopefully later tonight or tomorrow.

Saturday Card Club with Friends

I had so much fun today hanging out with my bff's Jeanne and Judy. We each brought projects to make. Hard to believe we got all of this accomplished in 4.5 hrs. with all the talking we did.

Jeanne's projects were this cute cupcake card and beach bag. Isn't the bag adorable? I was going to put a little piece of terry cloth in it to look like a beach towel and then decided not to. This is a SU sizzix die as is the flower. The umbrella is a Cricut cartridge. I computer generated the "Life's a Beach" onto a Fiskars tag.

Judy brought these 4 cute shoe cards. We had really good names for them but I can't say the word here on the blog. They are so sparkly in person you can't tell from the photos, we used lots of glitter and bling on these. She also taught us how to make the flower pot that has a pull out birthday tag. Too cute. The flowers are all made with a Cricut Cartridge too.

I brought the post-it-note holder that I saw on Michelle's blog, the cute little candy purse that Tami showed to me and then we did this heart card which is appliqued on (you can't see it in the picture).

So much fun I can't wait until we have our next card club.

Lindsay at Cosmo Cricket

Okay to a couple of you that suggested I email Lindsay at Cosmo Cricket the Mr. Campy Owl card I wanted to let you know that I did send the email and I gave the link to my blog. Guess what Lindsay came, Lindsay saw, and Lindsay emailed me.

Lindsay loved all the Cosmo going on that he saw and his favorite card was the Mr. Campy Owl which I am reposting for anyone who missed it.

Day 111 - Say it with Stripes

What a nice surprise today to open my email and see that one of my cards that I made for "365 Cards" was featured as a favorite on the blog of Miss Boo over at SCS. You can see the card here.

Now on to today's challenge. The challenge today was to Say it with Stripes and MAKE IT BOLD and it must have STRIPES. I looked through my collection of Cosmo Cricket papers and decided to use the Snorkel too (sorry Amy). I added some stickers from the same paper line and then for a final touch added some BasicGrey buttons.

Today I am off for a few hours to go over to my friend Jeanne's for Card Club. Her sister Judy will be joining us also. I have my 3 projects all ready for them to make and I can't wait to see what they have come up with for us to make.

Day 110 - My Guy

Today's challenge at "365 Cards" was to use Argyle and make it MASCULINE. Since this is Cosmo Cricket week I had the perfect paper to use since I had picked up the Lil' Man collection for Micah's scrapbook. Since I have already made 3 Father's Day cards this year I decided this would NOT be another one, but instead a birthday card. Besisdes using the Lil' Man papers I used some Neenah Natural White cardstock, BasicGrey Buttons, and some Making Memories stickers for the word DAD.

Paper Popsicles Challenge meets Mr. Campy

Paper Popsicle has a great sketch challenge this week and I couldn't resist using some of my new Mr. Campy paper, stickers, and ribbon that I picked up today.

I used Kraft paper from Anchor Paper as the card base and then added a carmel brown (also from Anchor Paper) as backing to the Mr. Campy papers.

First I just added the owl but decided he looked lonely on the front of the card so I added a couple of tree branches and considered it done.

On the inside it says "Are we there yet" this verse reminds me of when I drove to California in 2005 with my son, my niece and my great niece Cassie. We told Cassie who was 4 at time that "are we there yet" was a naughty word and she couldn't say it. It worked pretty good too if I could of only managed to break the Mary Poppins DVD we would of had the perfect car ride.

New Purse

I made this purse a few weeks ago and thought I had posted it here and I guess I just posted it to my SCS gallery and not here. The picture is really orange (I put orange paper around it thinking it would help it pop WRONG) so pretend it isn't orange. I will take new photos when I get more chocolate (I had a chocolate moment). The finished size is about 2 1/2".

My Bad or What

Hi my name is Sherry and I am an addict. (lol) I went to Archivers today and picked up some new Cosmo Cricket stuff and let me tell you they had a ton of it especially the EarlyBird Crafting Kit and at $9.99 instead of the $14.99 I paid on line plus shipping charges. But when you are addicted and you want something you do whatever you have to.

Day 109 - Color Scheme

Today's challenge over at 365 Cards was to use the following colors; orange, yellow, green, brown, & aqua on a card and make it a feminine card. I think I thought so hard on what kind of card to make I got a headache, and although I am not 100% happy with my card I am going to post it anyways.

I used Neenah Solar White cardstock and then I grabbed my QuicKutz large flourish embossing plate and ran it through my Big Shot. Then I grabbed my scorepal and added a line above and below the flourish. I then punched out two different kinds of Martha Stewart flowers and added buttons in the "Color Scheme", and last I stamped Thinking of You from my Stampendous clear set.

Yesterday while I should have been paying attention in my online class I decided to try and make the little post-it-note holder that Michelle showed on her blog. It turned out okay I think, but I need to go and get a smaller pack of post it notes as it is supposed to hold a large one and a small one. Just perfect for inside your pocketbook.

Day 108 ~ Oh Boy

Look what I found on sale today at Archivers. If you have one near you I suggest you RUN don't walk to get these amazing paper collections. I know I am definitely going to try and get the Little Man/Snorkle double deck and the Mr Camper Crafting Kit.

I feel like I got a lot of things accomplished yesterday. I finished up all my challenges for this week, I posted some scrapbook pages on my blog (I do more than cards), I finished up my homework for class tomorrow night, and I watched a couple of shows that I had recorded on the DVR.

Today's challenge over at "365 Cards" was to make it masculine birthday card, but not for an adult. I must have had ESP last night because the last card I posted before going to bed was a dinosaur birthday card (here) for another challenge I did. Now I could of used that for today, but decided since it is Cosmo Cricket week I should use up some of my Cosmo paper.

Today's card (outside) uses Mischievous Max from the Lil' Man collection, I used Neenah Natural White and Red Linen cardstock from Anchor Paper, brads from American Crafts, the airplanes are from CTMH Little Boys set. The inside of the card uses more of the paper from Lil' Man, I added some faux stitching, another airplane, and the sentiment is a rubon from Pebblesinc. I don't think I have ever shown the inside of my cards before, but I enjoy decorating them as much as the front of the card.

It looks like today is going to be a wet one here. Enjoy!

MojoMonday Sketch 91

I love doing these larger cards that fit the Business #10 envelopes. So much more room to use compared to your normal A2 card.

As a lot of you know my favorite paper is BasicGrey so I couldn't resist using "Archaic" when I saw this sketch. I distressed the background papers and the Neenah Natural White cardstock with Ranger Antique Linen. I added some hemp cord and a couple of BasicGrey buttons. The stamps are from CTMH and the set is called "Little Boys". I think I have had this set for 2 years and this is the first time I am inking it up. (shame on me)

Week #3 - Let It Snow

Okay, I don't really want it to snow as this is Minnesota and we already get 6 months of that wet, cold weather. While looking at a few cards today I found this new card challenge that is all about getting your Christmas cards done. This is week 3 and the challenge for this week is "Let it Snow". I had a quick card that I could whip up as I did it two years ago for some of my Christmas Cards. It uses a Penny Black snowman, Penny Black embossed snowflake paper, some hero arts crystals, tombow markers and May Arts ribbons.

Scrapbook Layouts

I thought I would post a couple of scrapbook layouts because since I started doing the card challenges, job hunting and going to school I haven't had time to do any scrapbooking and I think I love it as much as cardmaking if not more.

These are some layouts I did last year when I went on a week long scrapbook retreat with friends. The little girl in the cowboy gear is me and the flower girl is me at my cousins wedding, and the other is a photo of my dad's parents.

Day 107 - "So GIRLY"

So Pam's challenge for us today over at "365 Cards" was to put the word "GIRL" somewhere on the card and to make it very girly. Since it is Cosmo Cricket week I pulled out my double Deck of paper to use the "Girl Friday" papers again. The flower is by Petaloo, ribbon by May Arts and I used the SU tag punch and some Antique Linen distressing ink around the edges. The sentiment is computer generated.

For some reason the flower did not photograph in its true color. It is a magenta pink with light pink polka dots. It looks a little red in this photo.

CPS SKETCH 120

Okay this is going to be my last card for tonight I have lots of homework calling my name so need to get busy. This is another one of my favorite places for great sketch challenges. This week I used Cosmo Cricket "Girl Friday" papers along with my Martha Stewart butterfly punch, BasicGrey button, May Arts & American Crafts Ribbon, and a scallop punch flower. I did a little faux stitching around the edges of all the papers. Enjoy!

Card Patterns Sketch 19

I absolutely love doing the sketch challenges here at Card Patterns. This week I got a little bold and decided to flip the sketch (went out of my comfort zone). Most people who know me, know that I love either the fun bold colors in my patterned paper and cards or I love the look and feel of vintage cards with photos, ribbons, and buttons.

For this card I used Graphic 45 paper "Hip to the Jive" from the "Times Nouveau Collection", I used some ribbon from May Arts, a button from my BasicGrey stash, and a photo from my ever growing collection.

Two of my Favorite People

Okay it doesn't get any better than this - I had to just share a couple of my favorite photos. This is Cassie Jo when she was 3 up at the cabin we always went to every summer. For relaxing and floating down the river.

And this is a picture of Micah who will be 3 months old on Wednesday. Hard to believe he is that old all ready. They grow up way to fast.

Right now Cassie Jo is almost 9 going on 16.
