Retreat - Part IV

The first project that I completed on the retreat was this mini event book for my Cassie Jo. It is from when she went up and horseback riding with her best friend. I love making these little books. Okay hope I am not boring you I have a few more post to go and that will be it.

The Retreat - Part III

Our project this year at the retreat was for everyone to create a cookbook using all the fabulous recipes we have enjoyed together. The food is always amazing and boy do we eat up there. One of my friends Anne printed up all of our recipes and then printed them out, then Bonnie brought up the 6x6 American Crafts albums for everyone and then all of us were to bring papers, ribbon, buttons and doo~dads to use on our albums. Here is a picture of some of my pages that I did. I still have a few recipes to finish. I used the Cosmo Cricket Early Bird line for most of my book as well as some border chickens that were printed on the cricut.

I'm Back ~ Did you miss me?

I got back yesterday and was too tired to post anything and then this morning when I went to log on I could not get any internet connection.

I had such a great time scrapbooking with my all my old friends and a few new ones so thought I would share some pictures from my week up at "Sunnyside on the River". I will need to do it in several post so be warned.

The first pictures are of the outside of the house and yard. Sorry the photos are so dark I didn't think to take them until it was dusk.

I will hopefully be back tomorrow or the next day with some cards to share.

Paper Blooms Guest Designer July

I am excited that Leah asked me to be a guest designer over at "Paper Blooms" for the month of July. It gave me a chance to play with her wonderful crocheted flowers and butterflies. If you have not tried them I definitely recommend using them on your cards or scrapbook pages.

My challenge this week was to create a card or project with any animal of my choice being the main focal point on the card with a puny saying to go with it. I don't own alot of animal stamps so I grabbed my new Penny Black set and pieced the dress, hat and shoes on the hedgehog.

I am Outta Here

Cresecent City, CA - A day at the Beach

No card today as I am in the process of packing my stuff and heading out of town. I am going on my annual Scrapbook Retreat with 11 amazing women. The house is absolutely beautiful and it is right on the River. It has a hot tub but with new state laws we aren't allowed to use it anymore.

I will be gone a week so am looking forward to scrapbooking, laughing, watching some chick flicks, crying, eating, drinking and eating some more.

So while I am gone enjoy some pictures from my 2003 roadtrip to California. These are all northern CA up near Crescent City.

Food Drive at Cosmo Cricket

Just a quick post that Julie over at "Cosmo Cricket" is going to donate $1 per person that comments on their blog today and gives a donation to a local food shelf. Day 131 ~ Ad Inspired

I have to admit when I saw today's challenge over at "365 Cards" I almost decided not to do a card as it is probably the toughest challenge to do (or so I think). I love how Amy saw this ad and immediately thought ocean waves because of the shower curtain, how hers just flows. I looked at the ad and immediately thought:

Ooops No Camera

My card is done for the challenge over at 365 cards and just as I was going to post it I realized I do not have my camera. My son borrowed it last night. I will have to wait to post the picture until later today. Hopefully, it will be worth the wait and will make you laugh.

Day 130 - That Tickles Me

The challenge for today over at "365 Cards" was so much fun I knew exactly what card I was going to create. The challenge was to create a card that would make you laugh. This one made me laugh and hope it makes you laugh too.

Amy told me how she does it, but the silly bugger won't load.

I have my card ready but unfortunately my son has my camera so I won't be able to get a picture of it until later today. In the meantime enjoy this beautiful picture of Micah ~ (aka BUBBA). He will be 4 months old on the 17th.

Crazy Week

I can't believe it is already Tuesday and on Friday morning I leave with my BFF's and head up north a little ways to go on a scrapbooking retreat for almost a week. We do this every year and let me tell you it is the best of times. I didn't think I was going to be able to go this year, but I am and I am so thankful for this. We spend the time laughing, scrapping, eating, more laughing, and all around fun. I don't have anything ready to go so need to get busy and start getting my stuff together as well as finish a ton of things here at home. The bad news is that we won't have any cell phone service while at the retreat (unless we walk down the road a bit or go into town) and no internet connection. I don't miss those things though. If we need to talk to our families we do have a land line at the house. I will try and take pictures and post a few when I get home.

Now today's challenge over at "365 Cards" for Day 129 is called "You have me in stitches" and the rules for this card are to stitch an image on the your card and not just around the edges of the card, but an actual image. A flourish DOES count and so here is my card. I have to admit I have never sewn anything on my card except maybe an edge around the paper on a card. I am also showing that I finished off the inside of the card too.

Day 128 - Card Recipe

It is such a beautiful morning here in Minneapolis I have a cool breeze coming through the window and a bunny in the backyard. He/She looks like a bunny out of a Beatrice Potter book. He is in my backyard every morning and sometimes brings a couple of friends along with him.

I think they are predicting low 80's this week with rain everyday until the end of the week.

The challenge over at "365 Cards" today is to follow the recipe that Pam created and only that recipe.

Cassie Jo, Micah & Hemi

We went over to my niece Shannon's house yesterday for the 4th and got to meet their new family member "Hemi", he was a gift for Andrew (her husband) for his birthday. He is a 9 week old English bulldog and right now all I can say is he loves toes. No one was safe not even poor little Micah who just wanted to lay on his blanket and play with his toys. (It isn't a good picture of Hemi so will have to get another, but the photo of Micah and Cassie Jo make up for it.

Day 126 - Super Sketchy Sunday

I hope that everyone had a good 4th of July I know that we did. I got to spend lots of time with my favorite little guy Micah and also got to see his Dad's birthday present "Hemi" who is a 9 week old English Bulldog. Now that is the way to spend the day. Today I am going to be working on a new class at Anchor Paper for August and it will be the new BasicGrey papers and some vintage photos. I haven't designed the cards yet, but I have an idea of how they are going to look.

Today is Sunday and that can only mean one thing over at "365 Cards" SUPER SKETCH SUNDAY. Today's sketch was super easy as it was just 3 squares and a couple of embellishments.

July 4th Celebrations & Challenges

Happy & Safe 4th of July to everyone here in the states. Today we are going over for a barbeque at my niece Shannon's and her husband Andrew's house. That means I will get to spend time with my favorite little person "Micah".

The challenge for us today over at "365 Cards" Day 126 is Show Your True Colors and we were to use red, white and blue on our card. This was an easy challenge since I didn't have to figure out what to use on the card as far as papers were concerned, and since it is "America's Birthday" in a sense I decided to do a birthday card. I will keep this one and give it to my niece for her birthday next July.
This card also qualifies for 'Our Creative Corner" weekly sketch which is to use red, white and blue, on our card.

Day 125 ~ It's a Snap

Today's challenge over at "365 Cards" was to use some sort of closure on our card. It could be ribbon, snap, brads, whatever it just needs a closure. I knew right away I was going to make a birthday card as it is my niece/god-daughter Kate's 26th birthday. I can't believe she is that old all ready and what a wonderful young woman she has become. I am really proud of her.

I decided to use my Unity KOM for June stamps for the card and my new pack of 6x6 papers called SUNSPLASH from We R Memory Keepers. This was a free gift at Archiver's if you spent a certain amount. Well my sweet friends Jeanne and Judy gave this to me and I love the papers and the colors. The brads on this card are also from the paper pack. The inside of the card has a strip of the ice cream paper at the bottom and some rubons that say happy birthday.

I am off to spend the day with my BFF Jeanne today and am really looking forward to that. We don't do this often enough. I will be back later to check out everyone's cards.

Day 124 - Do-it-Yourself

Today's challenge over at "365 Cards" was one of the easier ones this week as I use computer generated sentiments all the time. The hard part was deciding which papers and embellishments to use. I was going to use my new BasicGrey but decided to change things a little and use Cosmo Cricket "Early Bird". I so love this paper and all the cute little embellishments that go with it.

I cut out my sentiment with one of my small nesties and then antiqued everything including the chipboard before adding it to the card.

Paper Blooms Challenge - Shape Up

This is my first time doing the "Paper Blooms" challenge and what a perfect challenge this was. It is called Shape Up and we are to create a card in any shape except for your standard card. I got this dress pattern awhile back as well as a giraffe, elephant and tiger and while I wanted to do one of the animals I wasn't quite sure how they would look with a crocheted flower on them so went with the dress.

My light in my craftroom on the table went out on me and hubby is gone so had to run out onto the front porch and take this photo. I really like how it turned out and hope you do to. Day 123 - White Space Challenge

It is going to be a busy day today so glad that I could get my card done right away this morning. Today is the day that I drop off my class board at Anchor Paper in St. Paul. I spent the last week designing the 4 cards and now I just need to see if anyone signs up. So if you live in Minnesota and want to take a class next week stop by Anchor and take a look at my board.

The challenge today over at 365 Cards was to create a card with white space, only this time Pam told us where the white space should be and nothing could be inside it. Pam must think that some of us cheat or something. I decided today's card needed a little bit on the inside too.
